    Hen?

Here he is up on the fence crying for me to get him down because the roos wanted at him lol

    Hen?

Ah possibly! Because they do have some bantams they keep separate from the main flock but well... you know chickens... they go where ever they please lol

    Hen?

From one of our village neighbours. They have a huge mixed flock. The egg was a light brown/tan if that's of any help? They also have a load of speckled marans hens (more of them than other hens). I forget the 2 roos they have - I think one is a light sussex or speckled sussex (I've never seen...

    Hen?

We didn't see any spurs either when we checked again today. Her comb is pink but very small. And yeah lol - she is right at the bottom. Will always eat last as well when I happen to throw treats in, or hang around the edges and grab what she can. Will occasionally chase the babies away, but only...

    Hen?

What about this one? Same age. Is pretty small in comparison (only a bit bigger than the 6 week olds we have - she/he is at the bottom of the pecking order)

    Hen?

Phew! Think I'd have a break down if we had another cockerel (we have more than enough room for 1 or even 2, but they recently converted some of the farmland fields behind our cottage, and put up some new builds. One of the new people there said no when we asked everyone if they would be okay us...

    Hen?

10 weeks old. Comb is basically non existent (unlike our prev 2 we hatched where theirs were pretty big even at 5 weeks). Also personality wise totally different from the cockerels we had, too. Not very bold or adventurous. Also not aggressive to the babies (6 weeks old) unlike the other 2...

The boys are being rehomed because a neighbour says they don't want us to have them (we hatched them ourselves hoping they'd be hens)

    Hen or roo?

This one is def the lowest in the pecking order. Also a fair bit smaller than the others.

    Hen or roo?

We have no idea what it is. It's mostly white with a small splash of grey on one wing ... these are all the chooks (we got the eggs from our neighbour)

    Hen or roo?

He's so diddy compared to the other 3 (we hatched 4 eggs and out of them, 3 were all black and they seemed to exclude this little guy at first)

2 Roos, both almost 8 weeks old - one looks like some sort of light sussex/delaware cross, and the other a marans mix, maybe. 4 unsexed at almost 5 weeks old - they are a mixed bunch and no idea what they could be, except maybe the 3 black ones are some sort of marans mix. The above 6 we...

    Hello! I'm in Suffolk!

    Snoozy boys

Thank you! These two are practically joined at the hip. The other four chooks hang about together but happily go and do their own thing. But these two will always wander about together. There's never a moment where one of them is alone. Which is rather sweet (and somewhat hilarious when they are...

Lazy afternoon snooze under the (sad looking) hazel bush.

    Hen or roo?

Nearly 5 weeks old. Couldn't get a full body picture as they wouldn't sit still. Please ignore the baldy look lol - lots of new feathers growing in

    My cuddly roo

    Thank you!

    Any idea on breed?

They're both a mish mash of breeds lol. I can't get over how pretty they are. Especially the black and brown tail feathers on Roadie (white one) 😍

    My cuddly roo

Roadie adores being cuddled in your arms or on lap. But he also likes sitting on a shoulder and snuggling right up to your neck. He will tuck his head under your ear and fall asleep like that.
