Mites in old stable block: help!

Our 6 hens live in an old stone stable block with wooden partitions (with bark still on). It has a cobbled floor! A friend stored timber in one stable for 10 plus years. The place has been infested with mites so I had to get rid of all the mitey timber I could and have sprayed the wooden...

Pullet or cockerel @ 11 weeks?

I sometimes think this "she" is a "he". "She" isn't quite like the other gals but likes to hang around with them. She has been seen to fly out of the run ( electric fence) and perches higher than the others. She is bigger and has been squaring up to the lads now and then, if she flaps her...

Introducing young cockerel to flock of adult hens.

Yes, I can see that. Better hang on to the 2 spare boys for a bit longer then. Just discovered she has 40 hens! He just can't manage that lot on his own!

Introducing young cockerel to flock of adult hens.

A friend wants to home one of my young cockerels. Yay! At what age might it be safe to introduce him to her flock of adult hens? (He is only 5 weeks atm and his mum is still brooding him and the others at night. )

    5 weeks old- usual dilemma!

Oh! I was assuming the rebellious behaviour was a boy and have been waiting for the comb to reveal itself! But it hasn't. I have two Maran boys ( and hopefully another Maran girl) who like being stroked!

    5 weeks old- usual dilemma!

Is it possible the first 2 pics of the silvery big "chick" is a female. It is quite well grown and rather independent minded ( usually the last to go in to bed with mum in the coop) but it has no wattle or redness in the comb.i thought it a Welsummer x. The second two pics are of another more...

Do you think this honey chic? Hope so as she is currently named Maisie after our granddaughter! But what about t' others? I hope for your wisdom.

I will ....but meanwhile crossing fingers no combs turn more than pinkish. We have a super wee Maran x rooster among this lot who is heavier than the rest and very combed, so very obvious! Today I saw him offering something nice to one of the others.

Thank you. Do you perhaps mean all of them? 🤸 (My post was all over the place, sorry!) We are vegetarians and can't eat the boys? Hoping fate has been terrifically kind because I can keep one cockadoodle!
