    1st time silkie owner. We got them at 2wks old now at 12weeks 'Sheila' is crowing.. The 3 white ones are in question; Sheila (naked legs) - seen crowing in the morning. Gucci (crooked beak, feathered legs) - lots of stretched neck being tall all the time, fluffed up neck while crowing going...

    update on the babies... 12weeks now... Busted 'Sheila' crowing this morning!! shes the naked leg white one. Crooked beak white Gucci looked like he/she was trying to respond.. neck up high and fluffed out..3rd white one Spyro showing streamers? 😢

    We're almost at 7weeks now.. and I'm playing pick the roo in my head!! Brown ones I think are ladies.. 2 white ones I'm not sure of. The one facing with two brown heading away - always upright and sussing me out when others flee!

    Omlet Eglu Go UP + 1m extension + perch. Shade is just a bunnings 2 x 2m thing I zip tied on. Link is below my pic on the right. They're a bit pricey, but I had 2 wooden Flatpack ones before this, lasting 2yrs each. They just rot and go yucky I find. This is plastic and wire, dog can't bust it...

    Winterizing a coop for silkies

    Following! Interested to see how they go in the Eglu. The marketing suggests they will be okay in freezing temps, some extra insulating options in their site. I am about to re-flock with silkies after regular hens in out Eglu Up. Can't say we have freezing temps though, heat will be our concern...
