I'm in the southern hemisphere so it is still winter. She is the only duck that is struggling with this issue. All other 19 ducks are 100%. He beak is also much lighter in colour. The other ducks all have bright orange healthy coloured beaks.
Hi all. Can anyone help. One of my ducks is looking terrible, unlike my other ducks who all have healthy looking feathers, bright orange beaks etc. I have separated her from the rest. She is breathing very strangly and wheezing almost. I have started giving her 1ml of colloidal silver (18ppm)...
Thanks. That was also one of my guesses. Can you tell if it is male or female? I thought male because of the lighter shade of black, but maybe I have it mixed up.
Hi all
This little guy was found on a neighbouring farm. Any idea what breed it is? We were thinking Muscovy🤷🏻♀️ He has no interest in my other ducklings or mommy duck. We think he may have hatched on his own as his mum wasn't found and a human was the 1st thing he saw. I have attached a few...
Update of Danny Duckling. She is walking well. Loses her balance every now and again. Here is pic of her and her sister swimming in our lilly pond. Danny on left in pic. And then one of them in my bed. Hahaha
This morning she can't walk... Only run. Hehe. She is so happy that she is finally mobile. I have put them in their little enclosed, shade netted garden. Will take a video later and share. 💕🐣
Danny Duckling is doing so much better today. She still falls over, but she walks now. Yesterday she couldn't walk at all. She is such a little fighter. She gets very frustrated though. Will definitely keep updating on her progress. 🐣💞
Thanks so very much. I will go to the pharmacy today to get vit E. Will also see if I can find the above products you mentioned. These things seem to be limited in South Africa
Thanks for your reply. Mommy duck left the nest with 4 ducklings and left an egg. Needless to say, there was a duckling inside. I have had her since she hatched so she imprinted on me. It is definitely an injury. She wasn't born this way. She ended up under a foot. 😭 Scrambled eggs are her...
Hi all.
I have a duckling that has a neck turned to the left due to injury. It isn't tilted, but rather turned, always facing left. Is this wry neck and can it be correct, if caused by injury? She can groom herself perfectly on the left but not so much on the right. She was falling backwards...
