Chickens won’t go in their coop at night

We put that in there when we left them in the coop for 4 days straight, and just left it there :idunno. We also threw some LED lights in there on a timer, so they can see in there during their daytime.

Chickens won’t go in their coop at night

Great questions! We’re in Northeast Colorado on the foothills of the Rockies. We covered their run in plastic over the winter for snowier dayside they can still enjoy getting out of their coop and stretching their legs. They like to park it overnight under their food dispenser until I force them...

This was both entertaining and informative. My husband said “I don’t know if she is being serious or not...” 😂

Chickens won’t go in their coop at night

Hey all, we’re having a little issue with our 11 week old flock not going into their coop at night. We are brand new to the chicken thing, so what are your Dos and don’ts to ensure your flock goes in on their own? We’ve tried keeping them in their coop with a coop heater (temp of coop staying...

    Sexing 8-week old Faverolles

In my very limited experience, I just found a cockerel in my flock—and he is quite different from his sister. We’ve had this flock for 8-9 weeks when I took this photo. The darker one has had a comb since about 2 weeks, has dark black feathering on his chest, and almost a metallic color to it on...

    Lady of Henezuela 2.0 (Questionnaire)

    (1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens? I am new to chickens! My hubby and I just got our first set of chickens about 9 weeks ago! (2) How many chickens do you have right now? We have 5, but recently just found out one of ours is a rooster :eek:and we’re not allowed to...

    Lady of Henezuela

My husband picked the breed, I picked the color. I had done my research on the Wyandotte’s well ahead of time and as the gal that we got them from was going through all of the colors they had, the moment she said “blue laced red” I knew my favorite was in there! She is such a little princess...

    Pullet or Cockerel?

The more of these I see, the more I would love to keep him! Too bad I can’t :idunno. Maybe one day we’ll be in a place that it is more possible, but not today unfortunately.

We have an Easter Egger and she looks a lot like a pheasant :yesss:.

    Pullet or Cockerel?

For reals! I was getting so into it giving them all ironic names and such. I was naming this one Anna, and the other Ilsa (because those Faverolles look like cute little Eskimos). My little Anna will make a better Christoph 😂.

    Pullet or Cockerel?

I was wondering why he was picking fights all the time with the other chicks 😂. He’s a whopping 10 weeks old.

    Pullet or Cockerel?

He is 10 weeks old, and we definitely can’t keep him. City ordinance says so. We have some friends that can take him though :-).
