I thankfully have very strict biosecurty protocols, so my main flock should be safe. I culled all the rest. 50 plus birds.
I just wanted to get peoples options about. Some say it’s not a big deal, but most say it is. How many of you test for things (AI, MG, MS, SE etc) that are selling...
I’ve been very careful. But it’s sounding like many folks are beginning to feel like it’s not such a big deal because so many birds are probably carrying around without even knowing it. And they can contract it from wildlife. Many of the common hatchuries don’t even test for it. As far as...
I don’t know. This is such a nightmare! I’ve thought about just seeing if anyone who already has MG in their flock wanted them just to get the out of here. But how likely is it that someone will want them too? And quickly.
Hello, I did a dumb thing and brought home some hens off of CL. Ages range from 3 months to supposedly 3 yrs.
They are in quarenteen away from my main flock, but the first day I heard a couple sneezes. Kinda wondered about it but haven’t honestly had much time to investigate. Well, today I...
Unfortunatly with little kids I don’t know how long I will be able to keep the clean flock from being infected. And I couldn’t, in good conscious, continue my poultry business if I have MG or MS in my flocks. If it was to end up in both, I would have to cull everything. That’s 100 over 100 birds.
Hello I need advise. I’ve been building my flock and planned to sell hatching eggs, chicks and grown chickens. I think I may have MG in one of my flocks (thankfully separate from my other flock). Do I just cull the possibly affected ones now, before the other get sick? Or is it not that big of a...
I’m babysitting some birds who apparently have mycoplasma. 😭
My flock has never been sick in their lives. They are all separate but is it worth going thru the hassle of trying to keep the healthy flock from getting it?
Also, the vets are no help around here... any advise on how to get a...
thanks for replying!! So #1 has funny hair on top of her head kind of like the legbars, had me confused. And the #3, they kind of have different colored legs, one hens legs are grey and the others is kinda grey and /yellowish... is that pretty normal with Java’s?
Hello everyone! I happened upon a few new hens and was wondering if you could help with what breed they are?
the first two hens are about 9 months, and then I added two pictures of the same two hens who are about 3 yrs, I think one is a molted Java??
