Hey everyone,
I was wondering when I start cooling and spraying my duck eggs.
I’ve looked online and some say start at day 14, some say sooner...
what do you guys recommend?
Also, what is a good number of minutes to cool the egg before spraying and then placing back in the incubator?
Question... after the first week in incubation do I need to set my automatic egg turner to less turns per day and if so what hour intervals would you recommend?
2-3 days before hatch time what should the humidity and temp levels be?
I got it new 180 Canadian dollars! The guy I bought my ducks from owns a quail farm and is selling incubators. I tried TSC and it was 300 for the incubator and an extra 79 for the turner... I think I got the better deal 😉
Great, thank you! The eggs have been sitting on the counter at room temp!
I run the incubator until it reaches proper temp and humidity and place my eggs in, what would you recommend for the automatic egg turning, every hour or?
Oh lord, okay!
They are pretty good together, the only time they get aggressive is when they are well you know, lol but they aren’t super aggressive towards her!
Incubator is up, cleaned and once my husband gets home he can help me set the temps and such, the manual for this thing isn’t that great so hopefully we can figure it out 🤷♀️ I got this incubator and I have somewhat of a clue what all these windows are for
She’s pretty good, while she was sitting on the egg this morning, I went in and pet her, she just sat there. I moved some straw around and she got up, I took the egg and she seemed fine. She lets the two drakes sit close to her while she was sitting so she’s not broody yet!!!
Okay, so I can go ahead with the ones I have, even the one tomorrow or no? It would make the 10th egg and 10 days since the first egg.
Thanks for your help btw 😊
The egg o got this morning was a warm one, she was sitting on it when I went into the barn. I also have a dummy egg in there, I put it in b/c I wanted her to lay them in one spot and she has, should I keep it in or take it out?
I have been marking dates on each egg as I grab them daily. The one in the pic is the 3rd egg she laid, I have 9 in total. They are placed in my kitchen at room temp pointy side down.
So tomorrow is the 10th day since she started laying, do I incubate tomorrow and if I start and she lays more...
