Yes she was laying eggs and has now stopped, she is about 9 months old, I feed her A grade layer mash seed with molasses. No there is no fluid build up in her legs or under her abdomen. I rechecked her crop this morning and it was still full with liquid.

Thankyou for the reply, no none of my hens have gone broody yet but they are still on the younger side. I am only looking to add the rooster for a short period of time while the hens are broody so I can get chicks.

I have just checked, Her ear hole was clean I can’t be 100% sure that it was empty, but her crop had a substantial amount less feathers than the other 2 hens
