I have 6 chicks now ready for there forever home. Born 7/2/21. The are old English game fowl, bantams. I'm located in Corinth, Maine. Ready now. Free to good loving homes only.
Oh thank you.
Thank you. I will have to wait n see. I'm happy with all males. Not looking to hatch any and don't want drama in the yard. My other group I had were perfect and I miss them alot. Time will tell if I have boys or girls in this group. Thanks for the chat.
The calls I had before the attack had a green sheen on head all turned out to be all girls n 1 drake. Now my drake recovered from the attack so I got more. I'm only hearing 1 so far w a deep tone as they are not quacking yet. I just don't want boys fighting. Thank you for the post
I have some calls and was wondering there gender. They are 5 to 6 weeks old. No voices yet. I will attach a pic. Thank you. I think color wise, I have 3 pencil, 2 snowy and a chocolate n green. ?
I got 6 new calls on 4/10/21. I had 4 calls b4 but a mink got in and killed all my girls, I got to my drake but he was ripped up badly. I was able to save, so I got more calls but don't know the sex. Could anyone tell me the sex ? I hope I don't have a ratio problem.
It's at the fold of his head to the throat. It's just me and my animals, so no one to take pics. I cleaned it pretty well, used saline solution, vetericyn. Giving bath time regulary. Last night he was very active in tub, but not today. Poo is green, added amoxicillin to his watered down food...
He seemed better yesterday, but he may have still been in shock. I'm trying everything I know to save him. Thank you for asking. This is heart breaking.
My flock of call ducks were attacked Friday morning by a weesel. All were killed but my male is hanging in. Bad neck wounds. Been cleaning daily, applied vetericyn. I'm worried about infection. He only eats when I turn his food to soup. Been giving electrolytes, he won't bend over, I know he is...
I agree to the deep method. Not only does it keep the floor warmer, and not slippery, but it keeps out the drafts. I actually let it build up, adding clean shavings regularly, then I actually rake top layer and bank it to the walls. Here in Maine it can get cold. I do this in my chicken coop...
Yes they have very furry feet, and yes it is true they don't see well, as to why I trim them. They can not fly. They can hop kinda. They are easy pray, not the sharpest tool in the shed by any means lol. Again so I keep them trimmed to see better and the rest of the flock are regular chickens...
Interesting. Well I am new to the farm world. I just got into livestock n poultry about 3 yr ago. I have 6 mini goats, some chickens and silkies, some call ducks a pure white dove and 2 dogs. I'm self taught from reading and sites like these. I look forward to learning so much. Somethings are by...
