    Early signs of fowl pox?

The first photo is from September 22, a small bump or two by the beginning of his beak near his nose. The second is from today (November 11) I know it is a slow spreading virus but almost two months seems much longer than I’ve been reading about, at least as far as the initial nodules...

    Tube shaped egg

A core? Yes I will be paying attention. She’s my most adventurous and lively girl so it will be very easy to tell if she’s acting different. I don’t have any because my vet did not like prescribing any for “food animals”

    Tube shaped egg

Yeah I mean it’s the same shape but it’s hard shell not soft and much smaller so I’m not sure. She seems to be acting normal but I didn’t get that much time to monitor them all before they put themselves to bed. Also not sure if this will cause an infection like what can happen with soft...

    Tube shaped egg

My 2.5 year old specked sussex hen has laid “fairy/fart eggs” maybe twice a year so when it happens I don’t think too much about it. A couple weeks ago she laid one and and then two days ago she laid a serama sized egg but larger than her usual “fairy/fart eggs” which I thought was odd but the...

Lavender Orpington and white silkie cross??

a bit late to the party but anyway i just hatched what i’m assuming is a splash(??) not really sure how that happened. from a lavender orpington hen and a white silkie roo (yeah, little dude has mad game). the silkie roo has more of a pea comb than walnut, from a local hatchery i believe so, you...

Which of my two roos is the father of this chick?

I actually have 2 silkie mixes that have normal colored skin one that is from Sal directly and both only have 4 toes. george also doesn’t have a straight comb and neither does his other offspring. george also isn’t a dark feathered bird so i’m not sure where she is getting it from.

Which of my two roos is the father of this chick?

Can I ask why? And if not how is her comb getting so dark?

Which of my two roos is the father of this chick?

There is probably WAY too much background info here but anyway, maybe it is useful, maybe not. Cute chicken pics either way. I know that sammie is for sure the hen, it hatched from her egg. sammie is a leghorn x RSL (specifically a Delaware x RIR). she's about 16 months now and molting, her...

what type of comb is this?

the mother is definitely polish since that’s my only hen who lays white eggs and i selected two of hers for another broody to hatch. i was surprised they don’t have a crest but gloria is definitely their mother. they do look like george did as a youngin. gloria, blue polish ~1 month old...

what type of comb is this?

i’ve got a couple chicks that are his. the hen is a polish with the v comb though so now i’m just making some seriously wacky chickens i think.

what type of comb is this?

well hey i know most EEs are essentially one of a kind but i’m glad to know george is eggstra special 🤪 he’s a nightmare but he’s so good to the girls, doesn’t “court” them until they start start laying eggs. modified pea comb it is!

what type of comb is this?

yeah that’s the one! although it was an add on to a “super friendly assortment” or something. my first time incubating and only he hatched (1 of 10). he’s definitely unknown. i’ve been going mad trying to figure it out. i wish they did dna parentage tests for chickens the way they do for...

what type of comb is this?

yes it was a discounted add on basically. i assumed he was an EE (which by definition he is i guess but just doesn’t have a pea comb) but i seriously cannot figure out what the heck he might mixed with. he’s a handsome and very unique boy.

what type of comb is this?

my pet chicken dot com lol and no definitely just a mix or some leftover type egg like the whoops don’t know who laid/fertilized it.

what type of comb is this?

he’s 18 months old and from a “mystery egg” since he was a cockerel it seemed like/ people said it was a cushion comb but now i’m not really sure when i compare pictures online. he came from a green egg and that’s all i know so assuming there’s a pea comb gene somewhere. (if he looks sad in...
