Ok so I have a bunch of various breeds of chicks 8 weeks and old outside in a small chicken house I made for them. Lots of room inside and weather tight. It has a small run on the outside of it. The past two nights I have found 4 chicks dead in the mud outside in the run, apparently drowned...

You can wait up to a week I think. If it helps I am in the middle of a hatch now that only 2 of 14 hatched on day 21 and the rest have come 3 per day for 3 days or so....

Ok I know not to open. I have two more late blummers that have hatched and I AM NOT GOING TO OPEN THE BATER even if the chicks are knocking the junk out of the other eggs Thanks for all the help and advice. I will post pics when the hatch is complete (if I can figure out how:idunno)

Well I am in the middle of the same issue! Mine were rockin for almost 2 days before pipping and hatching. But I just have 2 out of 14 that have hatched so I am waiting in suspense as you are:lol: Good Luck!

Thanks dieselgr48. I did open the bator to take out the two chicks because they were destroying any sense of peace inside for the others to hatch. It was quickly and temp didnt drop but a few degrees. I thought I heard some chirpping inside after closing it but not sure. I will be patient....

Just got home from work and two have hatched!!!!! still 14 more in there so I don't know what going on with them??? I hope those 2 were just early hatchers and the rest will catch up soon but haven't seen any pipping signs yet.. Good Luck!! I will keep everyone updated. Thanks for the help!
