Really unique problem with our hen. We noticed our girl with a swollen lump on her the side of her head that was warm to the touch but not hot, that had a dark scab in the middle of the lump. I thought maybe it might be an abscess, but tonight we tried to clear it out but only the thick chunk of...
Hello,
So this year we have lost 5 pullets all having similar symptoms and can't figure out why.
The first chick we lost was a week old, had light neon green poop, was largic and did not want to eat and died. We got her from a local breeder.
A few weeks later we lost two around 6 weeks...
Oh sorry, it is Start & Grow® by Purina® Medicated, and we just purchased the page a week ago, and keep it in the laundry room with them. I have noticed any mold but I can really look closer after work too.

Wow thank you for such a well thought out response! I grew up with Speckled Sussex chicks, Rhode Island Reds, Barred Rocks, and Golden Orpingtons, so EEs are new to me. I read about them, they seem like a perfect little byc for Texas and I love the little beards! When we got home and I was...
To be safe I would say 4-5 weeks, and watch them. We used to set up a dog x-pen outside for chicks when the weather is nice! But of course watch them closely!
Hello! We went to our local feed store to get some chicks, and this pullet is suppose to be an Easter Egger, but they were in a run with Production Reds. I know Easter Eggers are cute little mutts and can look very different but this chick looks like a Production Red. Any opinions welcomed! Thanks!
