    Lavender Orpington wing trauma

3 days ago I introduced a lavender Orpington about 5-6 weeks old to my teenager pen. It is a little smaller than the 9-10 week Olds. The first day and night seemed to go fine but when I checked on them the next morning I found my original 9 together and this poor little guy alone in a corner...

Can anyone tell me what this Green Egger could be a mixture of?

We have VERY feathered feet so my guess is both parents were feather footed but the patterning is gorgeous 😍 and I'd love some ideas on how to possibly replicate it. 9 weeks old and I'm hoping pullet.🤞

I need some help with unexpected genetic coloring crosses

Okay, so large mixed flock here but aside from my 4 newest roosters they are all "pure". I have 2 Black Australorp roosters and a FBCM roo. My hens are BR, CM, Welsummers, White Leghorns, EE, Sapphire Gem, Green Eggers, BA, GLW, Marans, ISA brown, Light Brahma, Austra White and a lone...

Duckling born with beak on a slight angle (not appearing to be cross beak)

I had a duckling with an assisted hatch (30 plus hours of pip but no zip) who seems to have a slightly off kilter bill. I had one other duckling with an unobserved yolk sac who didn't make it, one with curled feet and toes and 3 normal ducklings. I'm wondering if this could be an incubator issue...

The dreaded question.. sex this please!

Helllllo! I'm typically pretty good at sexing but I'm at a loss with this now 7 week old Easter Egger. Of course it's my favorite so it will inevitably be a cockeral right?🤣 I don't see any saddle feathers and those penciled hackle are always harder for me. So I guess it's the comb that I need...

    I'm a little confused 🤔

I hatched an Austra White pullet from what I thought was a leghorn hen and Australorp Roo.. my confusion is that she has one brown spot on her head (along with several of the normal black splotches). Is this some genetic throwback from either breed? I did have a BR roo as well as a GLW roo at...

    Okay, who laid this??

I have a mystery layer! My best guess is one of my EE ladies although I wasn't aware that they laid off white eggs. Could it possibly be a GLW, CM or BR? I thought each of those laid brown eggs in varying shades. Help please because I'm stumped!

Can you sex my Easter Eggers?

These 2 lavender Easter Eggers are around 7 weeks old. What do you think? Pullet or cockerel? They of course didn't cooperate!🙄

    Crazy crown! Pullet or Roo?

Hiya again! I had posted a few weeks back with 4 of my Easter Eggers... this one however has a head that looks like the mad professor! Am I seeing things with rather pointy neck feathers?? Lol.. either way, it's a keeper and a beautiful bird IMO.

When should I be concerned about lack of laying?

Hello all. I have read through a bunch of the posts regarding this as well as the informative sticky ones but I guess I need reassurance that my Columbian Wyandotte is just a REALLY late layer. My first trio of hens, White Leghorns, were typical and laid around 18-21 weeks. We got them in the...

    Bodyguard

My Pekin drake's advances on my lone Rouen girl were thwarted the entire afternoon by one of my Pekin girls.. she ran interference and put herself between the two of them and honked like a goose at him. I haven't seen him trying to be amorous before but they're only a little shy of a year old...

I figured I'd share with fellow duck lovers

My Pekin drake's advances on my lone Rouen girl were thwarted the entire afternoon by one of my Pekin girls.. she ran interference and put herself between the two of them and honked like a goose at him. Hiya all!

I'm Mare and my husband and I started raising chickens and ducks last year. We started small with 3 hens and a roo and then added some meat birds as well as more Pekins to go with our duckers (Pekins and Rouen) last summer. We got hooked and have added around 2 dozen new chickens to our flock...

I have theories on the sexes of my EEs but any help is appreciated

These are approximately 6 week old Easter Egger chicks. One was a light blue, 2 were tan and brown chipmunk type, one was a dark brown, black and cream "chipmunk". I was curious as to your sexing opinions. They were of course sold as pullers. Thanks!🐥
