I have a duck in a similar situation and took her in to the vet. It was a small puncture wound that spread to the bone, she's been on antibiotics and painkillers/anti-inflammatories for weeks. Def recommend a vet visit!
This was so helpful, thank you! I have a duckling that pipped externally 2 days ago which was when all the others hatched. She didn't seem to be in distress but when I looked more closely I could see she had absolutely no room to get her head and neck out. I gently helped her and she was out in...
Oh, I'm so glad to hear it! As of this morning I have 5 sweet little duckling eggs with internal pips and I'm being very, very impatient 😂 Mine may be a day or two early so I'm really happy to hear yours are healthy and strong!

Thank you, I think you're right. This is what I initially thought was wrong so I wrapped it and made her a 'chair', she just won't rest in it and is almost constantly struggling to get out.
We picked up some silkie chicks yesterday and they offered us 2 that had 'funny legs' that they couldn't sell for free, so of course I took them. I figured they had a better chance with some attention. One didn't make it, the other is very spunky and seems pretty determined to live. I've never...
