One of my girls has bumblefoot. She is still moving around with the flock , eating , drinking, and laying eggs. Any recommendations on treatment for her foot? Thanks in advance.
Can you send me a link for baytril? I only see one seller on eBay and I can’t get it for a month.
Do you believe giving turkeys cayenne pepper works? A lot of forums say it does. We’ve been giving it to them in their food and water since they were babies and they still got blackhead.
I see all of these posts on blackhead and how to treat it with various medications. I believe I already lost two of my turkeys to blackhead. My question is where are you purchasing the medications? Flagyl, Baytril , etc.
I have no plans on taking my turkeys to a vet.
Thank you!
We are feeding a medicated chick feed from a local shop. The thermometer is on the top edge of our brooder in the middle. I’m not sure whether it’s 80 in the entire brooder or not.
I have 3 to 4 week old chicks. I have between 10 and 15 in a brooder with clean shavings, clean food and water, healthy, looking stools, all of them seem to be eating and drinking. I did have a few with poopy bottoms and was able to clean those off with warm water. Temperature is around 80° in...

Quality of life seems fine. She still lays eggs almost every day. We let her out of the crate to munch on grass or whatnot. She can move around plenty in her crate. We have newspaper and straw in there for her to lay on. We did not witness her fall. We found her lying on her back almost...
I have a chicken who fell in our coop trying to get down from the rafters (prior to putting netting up there so no one can get up there anymore). We put her in a crate due to two broken wings and what we thought was a broken leg. It’s been about 8 weeks, both her wings have healed but she is...
I will have to assess her crop in the morning. She has been eating and drinking. Doesn’t seem to have lost weight. She hasn’t laid eggs in about two weeks. Tail seems to be normal.
One of my Rhode Island Red who is about 4 years old stopped laying a few weeks ago and started sleeping in the nesting box instead of the roost. Ok, not that serious. About a week later I noticed she has this dark blue/black diarrhea (does not appear to have worms in it). She is now sleeping on...
