I did set eggs on the 11th but forgot to enter the contest. I only set 9 because my chickens aren’t laying very much right now. Three did not develop, so six made it to day 18. Three have hatched so far with a fourth one pipped. Nothing yet from the last two.

I did get one more, but had to intervene, as it has been pipped for over 24 hours, wasn’t zipping, and I noted decreased movement and peeping. We’re calling it “Turtle” because the poky thing didn’t want to come out of its shell. 😊
Of my 12 eggs, 5 made it to Day 14, 1 has hatched, 1 has been pipped for almost 24 hours, still seeing movement but no zipping, 1pipped but missed the air sac and suffocated (broke my heart that I didn’t know in time to do anything), and 2 haven’t pipped at all. Unfortunately, we discovered at...
The brand of the incubator is Kebonnixs. I bought it off of Amazon after reading the reviews. I did not verify the temp/humidity. What sort of thermometer/hygrometer would you use?
The eggs are from our flock, they are various breeds, some from TSC, some that were given to us by a friend (Barred...
I’ve had chickens for three years, this past summer we let two broody hens raise chicks, but I recently bought an incubator and decided to hatch chicks that way. It’s just a small 12 egg incubator. We started out with 12 eggs and immediately found out through candling that one wasn’t fertile. A...
Thank you to my daughter for this update. Our chicken is back up and walking this morning, seeming to act fine. I don’t have any antibiotics so I hope she doesn’t get pneumonia. Does anyone know if that’s something I can pick up at a farm store?
She is doing a lot better, All we really did was put her under the heat lamp and hoped she’d survive. she’s looking a lot better now she’s a little wobbly but acting as her normal self she is no longer wheezing or making grounds I hope this helps anyone else if they’re in the same mess. She does...
I came home to find my EE in the horse trough, still alive. She’s wheezing and breathing convulsively. Eyes closed and not really moving. Is there anything I can do?
Hi, I’m new to the MI thread. I’ve lived here since marrying my husband in 2001. I’ve had chickens going on three years now and still feel like a newbie. This past summer we let two of our broody hens raise chicks. They’ve been such a joy to watch grow. Here’s a pic of two of my 4 month old roos.
Hi, I’m Patricia, mother of five, 2 boys and 3 girls, married to my husband 20 years. I will pray for you Rebecca. Marriage isn’t easy, but is anything worth having easy? Satan definitely wants to break apart families. My husband and I have definitely had our share of struggles. Trust in God’s...
Here are a few more. These are not all of the final seven, but the black ones without combs all look so similar, I wasn't able to get separate pics of them. These are all 7 weeks old.
