Hello everyone! I am new to Coturnix quail and have just finished my coop, I have a couple questions.
#1 My coop is 6x8 feet and I want my birds to be comfortable-NOT crammed. How many do you think I can have in this enclosure?
#2 Can I have artificial plants in my coop? I heard they love logs...
I treated them with the horse ivermectin paste, not pour on. Pea drop size in mouth once then again 10 days later. My birds look/act fine so far and their poops don't look worm-ey- so I don't want to put them through anything else, they have been through a lot the past couple months. They also...
The ones i saw looked like tapeworms, i treated with ivermectin and i never saw them again. Do you think this worked? I also found a bit of blood just now in one of the droppings in their house from last night, also it had liquid surrounding it. It must be the same bird who left the initial...
So this was about 2 to 3 months back I actually saw white worms moving in a poop- it was absolutely disgusting. I wormed everyone with ivermectin once and then 10 days later. That got rid of the worms. Then a couple weeks later I noticed foamy yellow poop in several other droppings, so I treated...
Does anyone know why this poo is so watery..? I’ve never seen so much watery poo before in my coop, it’s like a puddle!
Note- my birds have gone through 10
days of corrid and have been de wormed within the past 8 weeks
Oh yes, i just look back in comment's and realized. Its funny she's a pullet but has a pretty large comb. (about same size at frizzle) I have had a feeling she is a pullet because of her pom on he head and cute fluffy tail.
Hello, I’ve attached pics of the different looking poops I’ve been finding in my coop of 18 birds. I believe the yellow one is coccidiosis so I am treating my whole flock with cord right now. Let me know what you think. I did flash and no flash on a couple.
I don’t have updated photos sadly. It’s hard to get comb pics but the frizzle does have a large black comb same with the black smooth. Also the last little red one passed away yesterday. 😞 I am not sure why but my birds were trying to kill him off because he was sick. It seperated him overnight...
I agree! The frizzle is so hard to tell. #5 may be a pullet it has a short flat comb but who knows. Here are pics. It’s raining at my house so they are all hunched right now. I couldn’t get good comb pictures because of all their feathers. I would need another person here to hold back the feathers.
Hello! In need of some advise. What genders do you think?
