I got her in the tub and let her swim and then was able to look at her feet. Both look bad! 😫 Does this look like bumble foot? Her left foot is the one that is injured and the joint looks more swollen.
I can do that, but would bumble foot cause her foot to turn in? This seems more like a bone/ligament/joint issue. I’m not trying to question you, just asking an honest question- I know typed responses don’t always convey the same tone as intended. 😊
I don’t see any obvious wounds, but i didn’t look under her foot. She does not let us get close to her to pick her up or even pet her. We got her when she was 2-3 years old. I don’t ever try to chase her to get her.
Her diet is dumor all flock pellets and she is free range so whatever bugs she...
I have a Pekín duck who is about 4-5 years old. She injured her foot yesterday and it is turned in to where she’s having trouble walking. I have her confined today. Should I turn her foot and splint it? Or leave it and see if it gets better? Thanks!
Yes! We took her to the vet and she didn’t have any fractures. The vet thought it was nerve issue because she was reacting to her poking her foot. At the time, she said that she might get better. Time would tell. After many weeks being confined and having therapy in our bathtub she started...
She was limping a week ago. I’ve been soaking her foot daily and treating it with betadine, vetrycin and antibiotic ointment. I’ve been wrapping it up and she’s been kept in the dog kennel. She’s no longer limping but I don’t think it’s looking any better. It was never swollen or red. It went...
She started limping some yesterday and today it was more obvious limping. I saw a little black spot on her foot and soaked her in Epsom salt and managed to get the top of the scab off. I couldn’t get anything else out. I used betadine and Vetericyn and some neosporin. I wrapped her foot and have...
Update - She has healed up nicely. I was honestly surprised since her wounds looked bad. She never got infected and her feathers have grown back. She’s laying an egg daily. I still have her separated because I don’t want the roosters jumping on her, but she’s doing very well.
She’s doing ok. She’s eating and drinking fine. She has been kind of squatting some and I’m a little worried if she could have a crushed egg inside her. But she’s pooping normally and no weird discharge from her vent. I used Vetericyn and some antibiotic ointment on her today. I guess time...
