Just got my first silkie. It seem she can't see her food very well. Do you guys recommend trimming around their eyes? I did give her a bath and sanitary trim. She had poo all over feathers at the rear. Any help would be great.

Great! I guess the girls will get a nice cool 4th of July beetle treat today. We have 2 1 gallon freezer bags full of beetles in the freezer. Kind of gross. But hey it's for my girls!!!
Has anyone fed frozen japanese beetles to their chicks? We have been taking them straight from the traps and putting them in the deep freeze. Didn't know if this would hurt the chickens if the beetles are dead (frozen alive)?
