Hello Texas! I'm in the process of relocating to DFW area. I am rehoming a hatchling Blue Runner/Blue Swedish duckling. If anyone has ducklings it could have new friends as, that would be great as she is currently the only duckling!

Spoiled lol thanks for checking on her. I think I might have to find someone else that has ducklings her size because she's obviously wanting me a lot. Ducks should really be with their own kind.

Someone else said it was actually just poop. Sorry lol I tend to use 'chick' as a generic term erroneously.

I hatched this chick without an incubator and this is what it looks like.

I used a card board box and made approximately 5" by 5" cutouts on each side for ventilation. Then I heated the entire bathroom with an electric heater and turned the shower on hot and let it run often so the air was thick and humid. I used a digital heat thermometer and a baby thermometer to...

I hatched this chick without an incubator and this is what it looks like.

She's doing good. I gave her some water and decided not to give food until she can walk around and flush it with water on her own. She talks to me a lot.

I hatched this chick without an incubator and this is what it looks like.

I was going to ask this- when she can moved to a heat lamp. Shes sitting up scooting around. I'm glad because my thermostat is right outside the bathroom door. They said wait 24hrs so I'll just have it handy. Should I use my thermometer to make sure it's at 95 degrees? Should I still moniter...

I hatched this chick without an incubator and this is what it looks like.

Couldn't get a good picture without picking her up. Didn't know how serious it was until you said something. I'm seriously allergic to cloramine in the water and I've been miserable for hours due to sitting in the bathroom for hours with the hot shower on hoping praying watching snot running...

I hatched this chick without an incubator and this is what it looks like.

She was crying loudly and kicking a lot. She's very strong. She's sleeping now. It looks like brownish-clear stuff that's left now. The yellow part fell off. The naval doesn't look open but it's hard to tell. I'll take a picture when I get home I'll just gently turn her over and try not to...

I hatched this chick without an incubator and this is what it looks like.

This one was the last one. The other one passed during the night when the bathroom got too hot. There was less traffic in and out and the temps got too high. I set alarms list night to ensure baby didn't overheat. It's been 3 days now since once I took the eggs from the nest. I'm not sure if she...

I hatched this chick without an incubator and this is what it looks like.

She was a year old blue runner duck that incubated the eggs almost the entire time until one pipped and I was keeping and eye on it. I went to check 5 hours later when she left the nest at feeding time and she had pushed it out. I panicked and brought the other 2 inside. Edited to say I...

I hatched this chick without an incubator and this is what it looks like.

Going to the pet store to get nutridrench if anyone wants to chime in. Never hatched eggs before and already lost 2. First one the broody pushed out of the nest halfway hatched, other one got too hot in the box incubator. Maybe that's why this one hatched early.
