I hatched this chick without an incubator and this is what it looks like.

I am so glad I was wrong that looked just like yolk mashed under that duckling. Keep that open area very clean so infection doesn't get started.

it was my first time hatching an egg so I thought the same thing! I appreciate all the help from the people on this site and the forums that have been written over the years. I wouldn't have been able to do this otherwise!

Spoiled lol thanks for checking on her. I think I might have to find someone else that has ducklings her size because she's obviously wanting me a lot. Ducks should really be with their own kind.
