Update: the chick is doing well, running around, scratching, drinking and eating like her normal self. The runny nose is gone and the swelling on the face has reduced.
Keeping an eye out for the rest of the chickens to make they are all healthy as well.
Thank you everyone!
The hen was treated for bumble foot.
Thank you for the suggestions.
I would have to bring the chick in for tests if she does not get better in few days.
While she is not well, I'd like to bring her inside away from the hens hopefully to reduce her stress and a better rest. Also recommended...
This is very helpful information than most. Thank you!!!!
That makes sense with hard kernel hence bumble foot.
I just got a call back from the vet who prescribed TMS, antibiotic, to a hen 6 months ago. The chick and the hen are a little over a pound difference in weight. She authorized a...
I have a young chick that has the same puffy face on once side which also the side with clear runny nose. She is eating, drinking and moving around but less than her normal activity. No sneezing, coughing nor bubbly eye. Could she be having the same illness, upper respiratory?
She is moving around, eating and drinking this morning better than last night. I gave her scramble egg with fresh garlic and oregano. Her water has electrolyze and garlic.
I looked up TMS from my last vet visit. It seems to be an antibiotic, but I am not sure if I should wait to see how she...

However, the other chick just started having a runny nose on one side only, which is the same side with swollen face. No bubble eye nor sneezing. She drinks, eats and moves around but...
4 month old chick has runny nose on one side which is the same side with swollen face. No bubble in the eye nor sneezing. She is hunched over most time and sleeping more than usual. She eats and drink but not as much nor as active. What could be wrong with her and what can I give her?
Good news guys, she is much better this week. All lesions are dried up and should fall off any day now.
However, the other baby chick started limping. Out of nowhere last week one morning, she started limping. This week, she rarely walks. I inspected her leg, and there is not a sign of...
I now see where the mosquitos were breeding, in the water nipple cups! Then they fly right into the coop :( Emptying it daily from now on and there is no standing water around our house.
The older hens all have recovered from the fowl pox few days before these little one hatched. I thought...
The lesions cover both side of the nostrils, and I tried to look closely but cannot tell if they are completely obstructing her from breathing. However, she seems to be running around eating and scratching like normal. I want to try to remove it to help her breathe better but afraid I would do...
Thank you for your response Wyorp Rock.
It looks like a dry fowl pox. I am worry about the one that's near her eye and her beak.
She is eating, drinking and running around scratching like normal. She sleeps inside the house at night and out with her mom during the day. I have been cleaning...
