    Thanks for the great article. I too will keep my chickens long after they stop laying. They are a joy to have around. I will have to convince the city to let me keep more than 3 chickens so that there will always be some eggs.

    I have 6 month old hens (3 of them) and they have been laying eggs for 1 1/2 months, which is great, but I find dropped eggs all over the coup. Is there a way to convince them to lay their eggs in the nest boxes? They only use the nesting box area to huddle in the cold weather
