    Runners lost quack, respiratory issue

Hi! I have runners too, and have been through all sorts of respiratory and other problems with them. Mine have an ongoing problem with trichomonas, which is a Protozoa that lives in mud and loves wet areas, and is very contagious, transmitted by wild birds. I'm lucky enough to have an awesome...

5 year old female runner duck sick

I came here looking for help with my 4 year old runner, Chloe. I found this thread and Chloe's symptoms are pretty much identical to your girl's. Chloe has had reproductive issues in the past, so I suspected that this is also an egg issue. Thank you to everyone who has posted on here- it is...

    A flock of A-holes lately!

I believe it's the beginning of mating season... I have 4 ducks and a drake. The drake grew a new curly feather and promptly had to be put in drake jail. And my girls are bickering with one another too! Gotta love the duck life 🤣🤣🤣

The oxine nebulizer is good for respiratory problems even if they're bacterial, it's good stuff

Please help! Duck has a difficult time breathing through mouth, and is making wheezing and hiccuping sounds

I've been through this several times with my runners. It's probably a respiratory infection and she will need antibiotics. You can order Baytril online. Your can also try putting her in the bathroom with the hot shower on so she can breathe in the warm steam- it helps with the wheezing and can...

HPAI anyone had experience with this in a duck flock or had free range ducks in an area with cases of it?

Looks like there's only so much we can do to protect. We do what we can and hope for a little bit of luck too

HPAI anyone had experience with this in a duck flock or had free range ducks in an area with cases of it?

I just spoke to some friends who are chicken farmers- they use LAB (lactic acid bacteria serum) in their chicken habitat. I have been using this is my yard as well and it's been working out great. Anyway they said spraying everything with the LAB is probably the single most important thing you...

HPAI anyone had experience with this in a duck flock or had free range ducks in an area with cases of it?

My problem is we have a fairly small yard... they have a pen that's 10x7 roughly, but I don't have much room to expand it. So far, eliminating the water sources and only feeding them in the pen has helped reduce wild birds by a lot, but nothing is 100%

HPAI anyone had experience with this in a duck flock or had free range ducks in an area with cases of it?

I am in Hawaii and sadly the avian flu has arrived here as well. The heartbreaking thing is... it was found because it caused an outbreak at a waterfowl rescue and all the birds had to be put down. I have 5 ducks and I really don't know how to fully protect them so me my yard isn't huge and...

Duck with labored breathing (open-mouth), sneezing, and coughing

I've dealt with quite a few respiratory infections in my ducks, and it sound like that's what your bird has. I'm no vet, I just have been through the wringer with my ducks and all their respiratory issues... these are things that I've done and helped. She will need antibiotics to get better...

    Duck Sounds odd

Posting a video link of what she's doing would be helpful, especially if she's having back issues too

    Duck Sounds odd

It could be from swallowing something, an injury, or a respiratory infection. Is vet an option?

Emergency: Sick Duck (may have something stuck in throat)

This last pneumonia go around we had her on Doxycycline 25mg twice a day. The vet gave us 100mg pills to split into quarters

Emergency: Sick Duck (may have something stuck in throat)

I'm second what Miss Lydia said. If they're not feeling well of they are in an unfamiliar/uncomfortable setting they can stop laying

Emergency: Sick Duck (may have something stuck in throat)

Ours are pets too... we're the weirdos who take their ducks to the vet lol. The last time one of our ducks was sick with pneumonia we did use a vaporizer with Oxine AH (also from Majestic Waterfowl info) and it did help get her breathing better. We did it for 30 minutes twice a day in...

Emergency: Sick Duck (may have something stuck in throat)

Sounds like a respiratory infection. I have runners too and have respiratory issues with them. She will probably need antibiotics. You can get Baytril online. I believe you can search this forum for dosage info. Hope this helps!
