1 yo female pekin suddenly not walking

Is there any heat or swelling in either leg? I'm confused as you said further up in the thread that you have durvet b complex injectable, but the photo you posted doesn't look like that brand- if you have the durvet B complex, you can give it orally If it's another brand, I'm not sure

    Angel wing?

Cute! I see, in that case seeing as she is so young, she is likely just feeling a bit of weight in her wings. When those flight feathers come through, they get a lot of blood in their wings as they grow in, which can cause them to droop- its very common! I don't see any abnormal feather...

    Help Duck attacking my chickens

Are you certain that she is female? If you're absolutely sure, it could possibly be fixed by getting her a duck friend of the same sex. Don't get a drake as he will just terrorise her and the chickens. With company she may ignore the chickens more, but it's hard to say for certain. Either way...

    Angel wing?

It doesn't look like angel wing to me, how old is she? How long has it been like this? To me, if she shows no sign of pain or discomfort, and it wasn't recent and sudden, if uses the wing with no issue, it seems like it may be an old injury that healed a bit off, and is causing her wing to droop...

    Swollen leg

Update: she's still not really any better. The swelling and heat persists after almost a week of antibiotics and anti inflammatory, vet wants us to bring her back for x rays and a small incision to assess/rule out internal damage from the infection, and from there we will try harsher antibiotics...

Duck with bumble foot, please advise!

Update: she doesn't seem to be getting any worse, but that swelling and heat hasn't gone down so our vet wants us to bring her back in for x rays (radiographs can help assess tissue damage and whether the bone is being affected), we will almost certainly be moving to a stronger antibiotic...

1 yo female pekin suddenly not walking

Well I'm not familiar with this brand, we should probably check that as I can't say for certain. I know the durvet brand vit b from tractor supply is given orally- do you have access to that? @ruthhope any idea?

1 yo female pekin suddenly not walking

It does sound like a sprain or muscle weakness from something then, vit B can only help. Unfortunately if you put it in the water it will be very dilute and have little effect, it needs to be taken directly by the bird, you could put 1ml on a tasty treat if she will take it, many do. Otherwise...

Agreed Another symptoms is pigeon toe, the feet angled inwards- often causing the duck to step on their own feet. That was the first symptom for mine

    Rooster booster safe for ducks?

That puts me in a pickle, I love them immensely and equally!

1 yo female pekin suddenly not walking

Can you get photos of her legs and undersides of her feet? It'd be good to definitely rule out any issues with her feet. Feel for heat and swelling in both legs. I just had this with my girl and it turned out to be sudden and aggressive bumble infection, that could cause green in the poop, so...

    Rooster booster safe for ducks?

Is it safe for ducks to be supplemented with rooster booster (complete multivitamin and probiotics for roosters and hens)? It's clearly aimed at chickens but it says suitable for other domestic fowl and pigeons. Secondly, my duck Sprightly is on antibiotics currently, is it safe to give this...

    Male or female budgie?

Can you tell at all based on behaviour? She/he is very quiet, chirps very quietly and not often, and is also not happy with people being too close, will open his/her mouth like a threat to bite. We have also noticed that if we pass the cage or potter by it, she may shake her wings slightly, like...

Duck with bumble foot, please advise!

She's still feeling really rubbish today but I think her bumble may be very very very slightly smaller. Still a lot of heat in her ankle though, and she's still unable to use the leg. Our vet said we should start to see improvement within 3 days or so of starting her medications, but if she...

Rooster got in a fight! I think!

That sounds pretty drastic for a rat, but they can attack poultry so I wouldn't be surprised- are you sure you can't see any wounds? He may be in shock, put him somewhere safe, ideally quiet, warm and dark/dim. Just a heads up, this thread was accidentally posted in the incubation/hatching...

    LGBTQ+ Poultry Keepers

You did help though! I'm going to ask the vet about this the next time we speak, which might be tomorrow depending on how she is. I love my two ducks so much, I hatched them and hand raised them, they're very friendly girls, especially Sprightly. She's felt so poorly she's been sitting on my lap...

Duck with bumble foot, please advise!

The antibiotic prescribed is enrofloxacin We might be able to test her for that, our vet said we can bring her back in tomorrow if we feel the swelling is worsening or if she takes a turn for the worse, if we do that I will ask about this That could make sense, as you said its very odd that...

Duck with bumble foot, please advise!

I may do this but we'd probably prefer to take her back to the vet, he said he's happy to do this (though surgically most likely) if the antibiotics don't help, but has recommended us to wait 3 or so days for the antibiotics to kick in. We don't have dawn here, but I do have epsom salts and am...
