Can i keep my Old hen in flock with a rooster?

I have a 6 year old pekin bantam who long ago already has retired and isn’t laying and we want to put her into our bantam flock which has an active rooster. First issue is she is about 80% blind so she manages to get around her space and find food and water just fine but we are concerned that a...

Bantams with main flock or not?

We ended up half splitting them. The sebrights cause they fiesty and the bug chickens cant catch them so they stayed with the larger flock but the pekins have their own mini flock. We had fhe same thing with the top hen after returning from hatching babies… shes climbing quickly though. Itll...

Light sussex or venda or something else?

Thats what I was thinking. There are definitely factors that fit in both breeds but nothing that entirely points to one or the other. The mixed breed is an option. Ive never seen a sussex with a speckled wing or a venda with a completely white body…

Light sussex or venda or something else?

Hi all, I recently got 2 chicks from a breeder which were meant to be light sussex chicks (in a bunch of other breeds) and as the feathering started to come through (they are currently 4 weeks) on the wings the one looks perfect but the other looks mottled which isnt very typical of a light...

Blood in the coop (Pictures included)

There is also a possibility that there could be injury to a primary feather. Check their wings between their feathers for any blood.
