This has been this way for a while now. I keep waiting for the feathers to grow but ma now wondering if something is wrong instead? She has two little spots with a tiny bit of blood. I haven't seen any mites.
She's heavy, but I am not sure that it's fluid or bloat. I'm still pretty new to chickens so am not sure how to know that for sure.
Should I start treatment again for mycoplasma?
What is MG?
She is on Augmentin and Metacam. The egg they thought was an issue came out about two hours after I left the vet.
She's breathing hard enough, when sitting, that you can hear a slight whipping sound.
I weigh her monthly. She is overweight, vet agreed to that. Said not obese. Vet didn't think her weight had any impact her although I have doubts? Vet said no fluid/water belly and to discontinue to Tylosin.
She still panted today just as she was.
For some reason this site isn't updating the comments normally.
She laid an egg yesterday. Honestly, I don't think it was even an issue. The vet has been wrong many times. Vet said there wasn't fluid in her belly.
Peep is still panting just as she was. They said to keep her on the...
She didn't lay yesterday but would expect an egg today or tomorrow. She usually lays every other day or two. Her stool is completely normal. She is drinking the Tylosin water. I'm doing 1/2 tsp per gallon.
She's overweight, I believe. It's worse when sitting. The panting is constant when...
I looked up water belly and I think that's what's going on, but still don't know what to do about it? I will likely not get a vet appointment for a week or so.
She's drinking the Tylosin water and her stool looks normal..she didn't lay yesterday but tends to lay every other day. Her laying has...
My flock has mycoplasma. I am currently treating with Tylosin in the water, which I've done before.
But I have one hen, age three, who is panting even when not in a hot environment. I currently have her in a 76 degree house, still panting. I've seen panting in my hens before during a...
They are three years old and were raised together. The last few days, they've been getting into fights 1-2 times a day. The pecking at each other's facing, jumping up with wings out, kind of fighting. The last two weeks, they've had more free ranging than normal so space isn't an issue!
I have...
Got it. Thanks for clarifying! My regular vet is two hours away and wouldn't discuss the other options AT ALL without me being in person. I ended up at another, also two hours away....who did Deslorin. Hopefully can keep that going for now. I wish there was someone within my city but none carry...
