I use Hemp for my hen house and it’s works great for me. I live in the San Antonio, TX area and its been over 100 degrees for over a week and the hemp bedding is not generating heat at all.
Yes, she is only drinking Corid. I did give her a oral dose .3 mil of the Corid, she only weighs 3 pounds. Thank you for the recommendation, however, is this specifically just for fish?
I literally just finished giving her a dose of Corid orally and is now in her drinking water. I am also treating the others with Corid in the water. I do not know if it will help, but I am giving it a shot. She is still lethargic, runny poop with some blood, refuses to eat and has a runny crop.
Yes she and the rest of the hens are on save a chick. She had some runny poop with a little blood in it. She does have some symptoms of Coccidiosis so I am treating her with Corid just in case. Perhaps that will help? She refuses to eat
I am new to raising chickens and live in the outskirts of San Antonio, TX. We had a high of 103 degrees yesterday and all my 7 hens (15 weeks old yesterday) did well in the heat. I was constantly watering the grass, they have plenty of shade and cold water with electrolytes, however, one of...
Good afternoon chicken lovers ❤️.
What I have and believe is a barred rock who is approximately 8 weeks old. I keep going back and forth if it’s a pullet or cockerel. This chick is so friendly and does not mind me picking her/him up. Can anyone help and is it to early to determine?
Good morning and thank you for your post. Emma is 10 weeks now and is doing very good and no more vent problems. She is still about half the size as my other chickens and her wings on her back end are maturing very slow. Hoping over time she will catch up with the others.
My chicks are doing much better. I gave them coconut oil through a syringe needle about 1/2 tsp daily. Using the syringe needle was much easier on me and my chicks instead of trying to give it to them in small chunks. I checked their vents 2/3 times daily and put antibiotic ointment on the...
After I re-read your post I may have to re-think my response. I didn’t realize there was such a thing as bantam welsummer. I guess only time will tell. Again, thank you!
Thank you so much for your reply. I ordered my chicks from a well known hatchery and did not purchase from TSC. I don’t believe Emma is a bantam because her coloring and markings are the same as the other two Welsummers. She is feathering but she is just small.
I am brand new to raising chickens. I have 8 chicks, 4 Olive Eggers, 3 Welsummers and one Speckled Maran. One of my Welsummers is very small compared to the other chicks. They will be 5 weeks tomorrow but one of my Welsummers looks like she is 3 weeks. I’ve named her Emma. She is eating...
