White leghorn chicks presenting with black spots

I've thought about having them tested for the two copies of white, but probably easier to just get rid of these and hatch from my own since they just started laying. I appreciate your help! I do not want to be an irresponsible breeder.

White leghorn chicks presenting with black spots

I have recently hatched 9 - pure (supposedly) white leghorn chicks from eggs I purchased from a local breeder. He claims all of his adults are white, pure leghorns. You will see in the pictures below which make me think that either there is something mixed in OR there is some type of recessive...

Should I leg band my Legbar roo chicks?

Hey there, I start selling them right out of the hatcher on day 2. You can certainly advertise them anytime you'd like. The beauty of this breed is the auto-sexing ability. Everyone knows exactly what they are getting, whether male or female. If I was going to keep Legbars for...

    Hen with chicks already squatting?

I have an f1 OE hen that just hatched chicks a 1.5 weeks ago and is already laying again. She's still caring for the chicks and being a great mom. I have had broody hens for years, but this is the first time I have had one start laying again this quickly.

Was that in the 360 or a different incubator?

    Staggered incubation Nurture right 360

I have a Nuture right 360 and use the dry hatch method. I have a specific hen I want to hatch as many eggs as possible from right away. She's the only one I have in her coloring, personality and breed that is still laying. Unfortunately her sister is no longer laying and I am afraid she will...

    Elector PSP safe for chicks?

I see no one is recommending application to young chicks. What about 8 weekers and 4 month olds? I've seen lice in the other coops, since they're all connected via walls. The rodents surely are carrying the lice back and forth. I'm working on the rodent problem too...but can I spray or dust...

Harris Farms Nurture Right 360 Incubator is AMAZING!

I have not noticed a difference with the inner circle. I, too, have 22 eggs in mine right now and all of my inner circle are growing except 1. On the outside I have 10 not growing.

Leave baby chicks for overnight trip?

I know the brooder plate is large, but I'm not comfortable leaving for an overnight trip with a heating lamp plugged in and no one here. It's starter feed so it's crumbles, yes they've been eating it and making a mess as all chicks do :) Everyone is eating, drinking and pooping🤣

Leave baby chicks for overnight trip?

Thanks! They'll have a ridiculous amount of room outside, and the sooner they go out, the better for them IMO. This isn't my first time with chicks or chickens, just the first time having to go out of town, RIGHT after a hatch. The timing is terrible :( We have 2 large 10 x 10 coops with large...

Leave baby chicks for overnight trip?

It's 50 gal so, 39-3/4 in. x 21-1/2 in. x 17-7/8. This is only used for their first 4 weeks or little less, depending on behaviors/growth. I have a 2nd 50 gal bin that I have sometimes moved other chicks to before I can put them in the outdoor brooder box which is huge. I'm in Florida with...

Leave baby chicks for overnight trip?

It may look small but it's a 200 qt bin, I've never had issues before?

Leave baby chicks for overnight trip?

Ah, I have one of those in my shed...but it's probably too darn big to fit into this set up. I'll try and see though. Thanks so much! Helped me envision what you were talking about. :)
