    Hen With Swollen Abdomen 🤨

Hi! I have a 2.5 year old Golden Laced Wyandotte who has been kinda off the last few weeks. I was watching her and seeing if she’d improve, however, she has slowly seemed to decline. She has a Swollen abdomen (feels hard yet still mailable) and off white yellowish poopy vent feathers. Up until...

Advice for Hen with Sour Crop???

Update: So last her night her crop felt slightly smaller and this morning it had reduced drastically and had only a little left in it, I’d say 80% cleared. Even her poops had more sustenance to them showing that things were processing. I gave her diluted AcV this morning since her crop was about...

Advice for Hen with Sour Crop???

This is very helpful thank you! I did end up providing her with plain water for the first couple hours and then gave her garlic infused water for the remainder of the day. She took about 10 sips in my sight over the course of 8ish hours.

Advice for Hen with Sour Crop???

Hey Everyone! I believe my 3.5 year old Easter Egger has sour crop. I notice her being lethargic yesterday and pooping yellow wet diarrhea. I initially started with sovereign silver and an epsom salt bath thinking it was something to do with her abdomen or vent, (she had similar symptoms about a...

    Gapeworm or Respiratory Disease?

I really hope that that’s all it is. The only thing is though, I’ve noticed my oldest EE girl just recently now shaking her head maybe a bit more and another hen honking as well, and just today one of my Golden Laced Wyondotte girls looked like her breathing could have been a little off, yet...

    Gapeworm or Respiratory Disease?

Hi! Okay so we did start implementing sand into our coop in about the end of May, and I have noticed that it can get dusty when I’m sifting it, but it is construction sand not play. We did add First Saturday Lime at the very beginning of adding the sand. That’s the most recent dust I can think...

    Gapeworm or Respiratory Disease?

I’m not 100% sure but I wanna say about 2months of the weird cough thingy, and the squawking noises I wanna say were around when summer heat really picked up.

    Gapeworm or Respiratory Disease?

Hey everyone, one of my hens has been showing some weird signs of something to do with her respiratory, but I’m not sure what it is. After reading an article on the two I think it may be; I’m thinking gapeworm, but I don’t know for sure. If any of you have delt with gapeworms could you please...

@Mrs. K @nuthatched Thank you so very much for your tips, I actually have some very wonderful news. This morning I went to let them out and decided instead of feeding them separately to just let everyone out together and see what happened. Well they fought, but for less then 1 minute. My...

Two Hens Raised Together NOW FIGHTING AGGRESSIVELY….

Hi there!👋 I have two, 2 year old hens whom I raised together and have always been fine, even friendly with each other, until about 2 weeks ago. My Buff Orpington had gotten a head injury and I had to isolate her for about 2 weeks while it healed. I had her in a separate coop but still in the...

BLEEDING COMB DANGLEING BY AN INCH

We sprayed it with an antibacterial spray, and separated her to be by herself. I also have an antibiotic cream, we tried the baking soda packing technique but she flung it off, she’s annoyed by it but it doesn’t seem to make her stop eating,

    Waterproofing our new coop??

Hello, we built a new coop from scratch last year, and we went with an open roosted run space and an enclosed nesting box space, the thing is, however, most of my hens sleep in the open roosted run (as in only hardware cloth) and when it rains I have to use tapes and staples to weather proof...
