I got three ducklings from tractor supply and they were just labeled ducks, anyone know what breed they are? I don’t think they are pekins, two of them might be mallards, but I have no clue what the all brown one is.

Ok, yeah, that makes sense, and it is definitely a lot of aunts, cousins, and sisters. But you are right there is usually a lot of inbreeding between species to preserve/enhance traits. I just had ANOTHER chick die this morning, not sure why. It was a little weak last night but other than that...

Yeah, I was considering the option, but it really does seem to be improving. If its health does start to decline though I will seriously consider that option... 😢

Its okay, my chick seems to be doing okay rn. Able to (very wobbly lol) walk so it can get to resources. But would you have any knowledge on inbreeding? Because earlier this morning I did have a chick die of breathing issues that I am wondering is inbreeding related.

The chick seems a bit better this morning able to move around a bit. I'm worried about it but interested as well. I just had a chick die this morning of breathing problems, I'm wondering if I have too much inbreeding within my flock.
