What could be wrong with my chicken?

I mean besides a few missing feathers she has no bald spots and pretty feathered. I give the whole flock extra protein because one of them is molting and has missing heathers in the front. She was broody so she plucked her belly feathers, maybe she plucked a few tail feathers?

What could be wrong with my chicken?

She’s been separated now for 24 hours, given soaked wet mash organic feed and scrambled eggs and water with electrolytes

What could be wrong with my chicken?

I got her last last April 2022, so she’s about a year and a half old. Her comb is returning to normal and she’s eating and drinking. The other hens have been picking on her a lot because she’s had bouts of broodiness and I’ve had to break her out of it. She wasn’t sleeping in the roost and...

What could be wrong with my chicken?

I got my chickens april 22, so I’m new at this. All my other hens are acting normal. We did have a big rain storm, muddy run (even though it’s covered) put down saw dust in the run yesterday (wet down wood pellets)

What could be wrong with my chicken?

I’ve looked through all the posts and I’m at a loss.. This morning I found her all fluffed up, hunched, pink comb, eyes closed standing on a one leg, refused to leave the coop. When I got her out she tried to hide under the coop. I brought her inside, set up a cage, examined her, gave her...

    Respiratory treatment

I posted in a vet forum and I was told to treat with an injection Tylan 50 1 cc I would prefer an antibiotic I can put in their water and treat the whole flock, I read this can be contagious. I also live an hour away from tractor supply, so something I can order online is preferred

    Bald belly

No laying normally, no signs of broodiness. It’s two chickens with bare bellies out of 5

    Bald belly

hens are 1 year old. Still laying. Could bald belly be a sign of mites? Pink, starting to turn red. 2 of 5 hens have a bald spot in the top of their head. Maybe bullying? Feather Picking? I’m going to lime wash deep clean my coop for spring. Any specific tell tale signs of mites? Any safe...

    Molting?

Ok I was worried she was getting picked on. Now she’s got pin feathers all around her neck like a ring of missing feathers

    Molting?

She’s a golden comet I think, she looks nothing like her sisters. I was just concerned if she was being picked on or molting, I thought young birds don’t tend to mold until their second year. She’s the only one losing feathers

    Molting?

Hi! New chicken mom so as much as I’ve researched this on paper getting feedback is appreciated. My chickens hatched last April so they are not even a year old. Egg production is good, not problems there. The rest of the flock isn’t having this issue. She is the runt and can be a little feisty...

    All about garden herbs

I saw someone say they were dangerous for ducks. But I can’t find any info on whether it’s safe online at all. I was thinking of what climbing plant to trellis on my covered run for spring. But I’m not sure if I want to risk it 😕

    All about garden herbs

Do you know if butterfly pea flowers are safe around chickens?

    Mold on fresh eggs

I was collecting the cleanest eggs to water glass. I had two large mason jars I planned on using but didn’t have enough eggs to fill both. So my logic was to fill the jars with eggs and when they were both filled to add the solution. Well not only did I notice these spots. But it’s smelled of...

    Potential neighbor issues (rats)

If I thought it would help or if they would appreciate it I would. But my girls work way too hard to give eggs to someone who would force me to get rid of them anyway. Despite the love and joy they bring to my autistic 6 year old son as well.

    Potential neighbor issues (rats)

I have traps that work pretty well. My other neighbor told me he has a nest under his raised garden beds. I had two holes in my yard, but since I cut back my tomatoes for fall I’ve seen a significant decrease in activity. I personally think they were attracted to the garden more than the chickens.

    Potential neighbor issues (rats)

I thought so, your absolutely right. We are also a few blocks from sanitation. There’s always been an issue with rats but with all the construction sites it’s gotten exponentially worse. I asked everyone before I even got the chickens if they mind. I was respectful of my neighbors and...

    Potential neighbor issues (rats)

I’m in Brooklyn, I told a supportive neighbor who I brought eggs to today that I’m well within my rights. I take my feed and water in, I’m not doing anything neglectful. NYC is pretty lax on chickens. The rat issue is city wide, it’s not specifically due to my chickens. My neighbor had a bunch...

    Potential neighbor issues (rats)

I also feel like my neighbors wife is not nice and even if I try to bribe them with eggs she will still call. So I don’t want to give her eggs. I don’t think it will help. This morning I tried to say hello while she was walking her dog and she ignored me

    Potential neighbor issues (rats)

I live in NYC, there’s a well documented issue with rats citywide. The city has admitted it’s due to construction sites and disturbances of natural habitats of NYC rat populations. They are actively trying to mitigate the issue. In response to this, I’ve kept my yard tidy, cut back my garden...
