    Very sick pullet. Help!

A little update. None of the girls and the boy (29 weeks old now) and the silkies that are over a year old has exhibited any symptoms of Marek’s. My spring chicks are finally laying now and I do carry them everyday making sure none has been losing weight. Taking it day by day and considering...

    Very sick pullet. Help!

Thank you so much. You have no idea how much your article and your words meant to me. I was shocked for a couple of days trying to figure out my next move. Having something I can’t control and can’t cure is debilitating to me on top of the several virus outbreaks that cost so many lives in the...

    Very sick pullet. Help!

So the final report came back, it is the dreaded Marek’s. What do I do for my remaining flock now? Everyone appears to be acting normal. I also saw that they found a roundworm in the intestine. I’m getting safeguard paste tomorrow.

    Very sick pullet. Help!

Thank you very much. Hopefully the necropsy provides some answers so I can brace myself. Being a dog and a cat nurse made me way too cocky I guess. Chickens are a whole different ballpark.

    Very sick pullet. Help!

Thank you for all your help. I’m a little bit traumatized to go to my coop now and find another one sick and unable to move. Mareks keeps getting thrown a lot around here and I’m scared for that. The 3 1yr old silkies were bought somewhere else and I’ve quarantined them for 30 days before...

    Very sick pullet. Help!

This is what her pooped looked like. I did my last final act of mercy and culled her this morning. She’s more lethargic than ever and is literally skin and bones and unable to move. I didn’t wanna prolong her suffering by force feeding her. I’m sick to my stomach. Tried sending her off to state...

    Very sick pullet. Help!

Still very lethargic and not eating much. I soaked her in warm water with epsom salt to clean her vent. She feels like she’s skin and bones. I feel like I’ve done everything I could at this point and I’m such at a loss. If and when she passes I’m aiming to send her body to my state lab.

According to my husband she is drinking a lot of water. I’m glad she’s getting all that corid water in her, but idk if that’s a sign of anything internally wrong.

    Very sick pullet. Help!

This morning- I work at a small practice vet clinic. Poop is runny and a little dark. No blood or mucus in stool. She will get a soak and dry tomorrow. They were in a fully enclosed run, feed is checked and it isn’t moldy. The only treats they get is mealworms and the bag is also fresh...

    Very sick pullet. Help!

I have some 20-23 week old pullets ( not laying yet) including some 1 year old laying silkies. A week ago my 20 week old EE suddenly appeared lethargic, I brought her inside and upon picking her up I noticed she felt very light and skinny. She was fine the day prior, eating and eating mealworms...
