    Update I have switched to a 2X4 and lowered the bar a few inches. One of the chickens is using the roost the other three are still on the floor. We will see if they will take to the new bar

    The wood is in a square shape 1inX 1in. The total length overall is 55 inchs. It's been sanded down so the corners aren't sharp but also not entirely round.
