I’ve been treating bumble for 2 months. Today while changing bandages I noticed an ulcer of some sort? It’s weird, looks like a tumor almost. It has capillary refill really well. It’s developed within the last 4 days. Overall she is doing good, she is 2years and 4 months old. Any ideas if I need...
This could be common to an extent. But constantly doing this, for months on end with other symptoms is not normal. We ended up putting my hen down, she wasn’t laying, she wasn’t eating, she would hardly drink, she wasn’t active. It was sad. Something was clearly wrong and for the life of me...
Well something Is wrong I think. She’s laying with her legs straight as opposed to curled like the other. The other one just was taking a 1 minute rest. She popped right back up. You can clearly see the difference
This baby hatched on time, maybe a few hours before it was literally day 21. However she is laying on her back most of the time. She won’t flip over. I think she was on her legs once and now this is how she’s resting all the time. She’s chirping but not really moving like my others. I have some...
I’m not saying this will be your hen… but I had a hen who did this for a few months. She was progressively getting ill, though. It started with sneezing, then it was coughing etc… the opening mouth (with no sound) thing all the time! She eventually stopped eating. She became pale over time, had...
My air cells for my Bresse Chicken eggs aren’t quite measuring big enough for 14 days. Should I decrease humidity for the remaining time or until they catch up? I’m running 45-50% in my farm innovator 4250. It typically sits at 47-48%. My temp is set at 100.5 . Thank you for help!
Who here, has raised and hatched their own Ayam Cemani? I’m very interest in possibly getting this type of Bird, but would like more info. We currently only have Bresse. I don’t plan on crossbreeding right away.
So nice to meet you. And a fellow Bresse lover:) I currently have 21 in the incubator, I am really hoping for success! We feather sexed ours last year. We had 5 out of the 7 correct! This has to be done no later than day 3. So you’d be a little late on that this time around. But you can research...
The incubator has worked well (keeping consistent temp and humidity) . My hatch rates, which I’ve only hatched twice we’re not good. Most recent hatch last month- I had full grown chicks at 75% at lockdown- moving and active (there were 10 total) then only 3 hatched. I don’t know if it’s just...
I’ve got three different thermometers going, the one that is built in, and two additional digital ones. Humidity is close on all. I’m concerned about the temp. The readings were very low on the digitals earlier so I bumped up the built in thermometer to 103, and finally the two digital read...
I’ve learned a lot in my two years, I’ve treated for respiratory illness, gape worms, parasites, I’ve nursed injuries etc… but for the life of me I can’t figure this one out. She’s been doing this for a while, at least a month or more… no other hen is ill, just her. She seems fine other than...
Here are some random ones, I move pictures over to an external hard drive every few months bc I have a ton of pictures! We have 4 kids and chickens so I’m always taking pictures! So these are what I had on my phone. The one in the brooder are new chicks hatched a few days ago.
I’m sorry, yes they are chickens. I set my temp to 100.5 during incubation, with humidity at 45-50
Then at lockdown I only increase humidity to 60-65 and temp I only take down .5 degree.
