Lol I should know better than to trust the Tractor Supply signs 🤦🏻♀️ that’s how my “barred rock” chick ended up being an Easter egger last year lol. I’m not really upset about the fact that they’re Easter eggers, I just really wanted pullets. I’m never getting straight runs again lol
Hello! I got these two ameraucanas on March 30th from a bin of straight runs. Can anyone tell me if they are going to be hens or roosters yet?? They’re 9ish weeks old. The white and tan one kind of acts like a rooster but these are my first Ameraucanas so I’m not sure how to sex them very well...
Yes that’s what I’ve read! I could’ve sworn they came from a straight run box because I remember thinking it was a gamble on the gender. Then when I search mystic maran roosters, mine looks nothing like them so I was very confused. Thank you!
Hey!
I got these chicks from TSC, they are 11 weeks old, almost 12 weeks. I thought I had gotten a mystic maran which were labeled straight runs. I quickly realized I definitely had a cockerel but he doesn’t look like a mystic maran rooster I don’t think? I’m probably wrong so I just wanted...
That’s what I was thinking! Maybe it got placed in the wrong bin or maybe it jumped bins. I originally asked for olive eggers but she said she wasn’t sure there were any left (there we some dark ones and some light ones, but only about 10 left in the bin). Maybe she realized there was one and...
Oh
Oh wow! The wings on mine reminded me a little of a golden laced wyandotte. I’m not an expert by any means, this is my first year having chickens but I had some GLWs with my first round in the spring. It’s the head and muffs that threw me off though!
Wow thank you all for the responses!
I wanted to mention that they had a sign for olive eggers in the same bin as the golden laced wyandottes. There were also Cornish rocks in that bin. The ISA browns and barred rocks were in another bin. I wanted an olive egger, and when I saw this chick when...
Hello!
I just picked up some chicks from TS, I asked for two ISA browns, two barred rocks and two golden laced wyandottes. All the chicks look like they’re supposed to except this one. Is this a barred rock? Also they’re all pullets. Thank you!
Thank you! That’s what I’ve read, I’m so new to chickens so I thought maybe because it looks so different than the other ones maybe it could be a rooster but I’m totally fine if it’s not! Lol
This one looks a little whiter from the chest down than the brown ones. It doesn’t have any significant comb or wattle coloring, and neither do the other two. They were labeled pullets and they all were brown when I got them, but I’m just curious if this one might end up being a roo?! Thank you!!
