    It was definitely pricey. I thought I was paying a premium for sure-bet hens… silly me. If you or anyone has recommendations for good hatcheries, I’d love a recommendation. These are my first hens, but won’t be my last. I’m located in CA, USA.

    I got her from mypetchicken.com— I’m not sure what method they use. But so far, two other supposedly female chicks have turned out to be roosters, so I’m definitely not getting the “95% accuracy” they claim. Sigh. I’ll try to get a better shot!
