Bad, bad morning.
Something killed my entire flock last night. We have a 8 foot high chain linked fence around them. With 1 inch chicken wire around the bottom into the ground and netting covering most of the top. 2 chickens had no head, one was in tact but dead and 8 chickens are completely...
How interesting. Thank you for the tips. Yeah some of the things he does is cute while being little but I wouldn't want him flying to my shoulder to play with my hair when he is big. Alway love learning from other people's experience. Hope your roo does well too!
This chick is 5 weeks old and was in a bin at tractor supply marked americana. Which from my understanding is EE's.
The sales lady thought it to be a lavender orpington. But it has what appears to be a rose comb. Any thoughts on breed? Thank you!
Thank you. I believe they had it around a month. I've had it 2 weeks. They said it wasn't a baby when they got it. It is between the size of a dove and pigeon. Not crowing
Awww! So cute! Your sebright is beautiful. Do they lay half sized eggs as well. And yeah looks like a regular bird. If it is a batam will it be able to be with my regular size chickens?
They should be good then in those temps with all that you are giving them plus shade and ventilation. Loved the wetting the ground idea too. They pant because they can't sweat.
It has been in the mid 90's here and they are fine if they have plenty of shade and water. But I will give them watermelon from the fridge, which they love. Also you can pour canned corn into ice cube trays to freeze and give as treats. I have heard of people putting chicken wading pools in...
Thank you. I have wondered the same thing, about them being the same age. The silver one is so much smaller. Like a dove or pigeon. She has no clue on the age. Did not get them when they were day/days old chicks. I think she has had them a couple of weeks.
I inherited these 2 chicks from a friend who's dog was eating their chicks. Last 2 left. A silver laced wyandotte and was told the other is a blue ameraucana.
Does anyone have an idea of there age or if they are roo's or pullets.
Thank you!
