I'm looking for a serama rooster and hen. I would prefer 1 year old or younger but I don't have a problem with up to 2 years old. I don't have a color preference, any color will be fine.
I live in Tipton IN and I'm willing to drive about 80 miles in any direction. PM me if you have either a hen...
My neighbors chickens molted and they returned to laying eggs but their feathers are not returning. They have tried protecting them from the rooster but that wasn't the problem. They also changed the feed to higher protein and that did not work.
I'm trying to help them out but I have never had...
I'm going to try it and see what happens. I was hoping someone already did the experiment and I could save some time lol.
I feed my aquarium fish food that is high in certain ingredients that give fruits and vegetables there color. It makes their colors really bright at breeding time but I...
I was wondering if feeding my EE's and Ameraucana chickens blueberries will help produce bluer & greener eggs?
The antioxidant in blueberries is responsible for their blue color and I was wondering if it would affect the color of the eggs.
I know that the blue egg is caused at a genetic...
Sorry for the late response, I didn't see your post. Our chicken house is under a tree. So it gets both sun and shade. We have two main predators hawks and cats. The tree has provided camouflage from the hawks but we had install a lot of chicken wire around the run and on top to keep the cats...
Thanks. I figured it would be a wild guess as to what the eggs will look like.
I called the hatchery and told them that all the research that I can find, says that EE'S are cross breeds (hybrids) and they stuck by their claim that their EE's breed true.
However they attached one caveat...
I apparently asked a similar question already, so I apologize for the duplicate here.
The response that I got from the member believes they are using the term "breed true" loosely. They believe that the EE'S that I have will breed true with each other. However I can't find anyone who has bred...
I have an EE rooster from Meyer hatchery and it's supposed to breed true when bred with one of their EE hens.
I also have some Ameraucana hens and I want to know what the chances are that the resulting hens from the "Ameraucana X EE" cross will lay eggs that are not brown or white.
I...
That sounds great. We have a lot of wild life around us and in particular a lot of hawks. I don't want to put a top on it but I will feel better knowing that we have one. I will have serama chickens on one side and they don't win any fight n
I was going to bury some leftover orange construction netting 6" deep and then put a 6" skirting on top of the ground. We are using all recycled materials except for the chicken wire. That includes the coop that we built.
