    Don't be alarmed! One of my hens went through this a while back. For about a week she layed soft eggs, and at times she looked pretty bad. I gave a lot of crushed oyster shells for calcium and kept her vent area clean. Within a week she got better and starded laying nice hard shelled eggs.

    Black Widow in the Chicken Coop!

    I have them in my yard and my chikens eat them! The first time it happened I was moving some fire wood and one got out from under the pile and before I could stomp on it my Orp got to it pecked at it and ate it. I was really worried about my chicken and kept a close eye on her for few hours...
