Hello!
I have an 8 week old mix, I thought it was a pullet for the past couple of weeks due to its small pale comb, but it seems to be getting reddish patches on the shoulders and emerging saddles. It looks like it might be an Easter egger so I’m a bit confused. Any insight is appreciated...
I noticed this big bare patch on her butt this evening when closing the coop. She was normal yesterday and laid a huge egg today. She’s about 30 weeks old. I did just introduce three new 14 week olds after 4 weeks of see-but-no-touch integration.
I have the two Swedish flower hens, just over 7 weeks. The dark one has thicker legs and is overall larger so I’m concerned about the sex if anyone can shed some insight! Both are very friendly and easily handled
Thanks everyone, that’s a relief. The super early comb and wattles are really concerning, as the other Sussex I had really didn’t have either at the same age. But as this one grew I didn’t see any of the rooster feathering coming in.

I appreciate all the responses!

The chick in question is more timid...
Thank you all for such a warm welcome. I’m really excited to be a part! Luckily only two had the leg bands, removing any more would’ve been a bit much. I’ll see if I can keep the Sussex together, he doesn’t particularly care what breed they are as long as they lay eggs, and I think I was sent...
Thanks for the fast reply! For the blue/black/splash Orpington they use a green band, the Barnevelder was banded too but hers came off easily.
The Orpington jumped up on top of the brooder plate and seems normal.
Hi all, so glad to have found such a well developed community! I just got my first chicks in the mail Tuesday and am ready to always learn more!
I got 10 total from Meyer, though 4 are for someone else when they’re old enough to join adult birds. I got three Easter eggers (one fibromelanistic...
