The top of her head is looking good. She won't let me get a good picture. It almost looks like a sunburn. No seepage or blood. So she got a good smear of antibiotic on her head.
Yes, I have put triple antibiotic on her back where there is no feathers. Then I put some on her head as well where it was needed. I done up some homemade electrolyte drink for her as well. I think another couple days of tender care and babying she'll be ready to go back out with her siblings.
Here is how she's looking after a few days now. She was actually just quacking/chipping. I hear her in there drinking and eating. But I'm going to keep her inside for just a few more days
Thank you so much for replying. I was planning on keeping her inside for another day or so. She has no open wounds, but I will feel better knowing she's healing.
Hey all. I need some advice. One of my young ducklings has been attacked by one of my larger male ducks. They are separated, but every once in a while one of them will get over on the other side. When I went to put them to bed tonight, I noticed one of my females was missing. Thank goodness I...
Okay you all,you have been so helpful before on all sorts of things since I have joined. I need some advice again 😁
So my ducks coops floor is concrete. I make sure I put in enough straw to make it comfortable and soft. But the smell at times is really......well, smelly. Plus I have trouble with...
Just an update. So, as you can see Jr is doing good after what he went through yesterday. The only downside is that he's blind in his right eye. I know it's nature, but his daddy who done this will be making some good broth and the meat will make my lab a good dinner. After it's cooked of course.
This guy here is Jr. He was born last winter and has no claws to roost in a because he was kinda wild with his father and others. I finally got him into the coop. But yesterday evening he was able to jump the fence. Today, his father done this to him. I can't afford to take him to the vet but I...
Thank you everyone for the birthday wishes. I'm sorry I'm just now seeing them. I haven't been on her much do to taking care of my mom who just passed away in February. So again, thank you all very much for the kind birthday wishes.
He actually roosts in our tree out front of the house. We tried to get him, late at night, but the it's hard because he goes almost to the top of the tree. And the hens roosts under him.
Hey everyone, it's be a while since I've been on here. But I need help. We just got rooster from a neighbor for our 7 hens. He's caged up right now in the coop. I'm going to let him out Saturday. But I'm wondering if I should clip one of his wings or not so he doesn't fly out. I have a couple of...
I hope that's all that's wrong. Going to keep her inside for a few days anyway and keep it clean. Soaking her foot and leg in Epsom salt to help with the soreness if any. Going to keep it wrapped with antibiotic also. Would rather be safe then sorry
