    very attached gosling

You might want to find him a goose friend. They're incredibly social creatures and need at least 1 other goose with them. Good job on taking him in!

Are quail more prone to hatching problems?

They're from my birds. None of them have any issues.

Are quail more prone to hatching problems?

My humidity at hatch has been around 40% and during incubation is around 30% dry. Temp is about 100 but fluctuates slightly during the day.

Are quail more prone to hatching problems?

I've had 2 quail hatches so far a week apart. Last week I had 2 with that I had to cull and this week I have 1 that's a definite cull and another that's possible. 2 had leg issues, 1 had a serious cross beak and deformed face and this last one possibly has curled toes. Does anyone know if...

What age do geese stop laying?

I've had my white chinese goose for about 10 years. She's been laying since I got her and I don't know her age. She usually lays around 20+ eggs annually but spring of 22' she only layed around 5 or so. Is it possible she's getting too old? I really wanted to attempt to hatch some of her eggs...

    Sustainable meat bird

I actually made a post asking about the Delaware boilers from McMurrays, I got a few good responses from people who had them. They seem to be a good option.

    Welsummer Laying in Florida

I'm in the same boat, I have 3 leghorns who all started laying at 20 weeks in October and late September. The rest of my birds range from 21 to 31 weeks and haven't started laying. The hip points have started widening on a few so I'm hopeful some will start laying by December. The rest I think...

Rooster with swollen face on one side

Hello, my legbar roo has a swollen face but only on one side. Occasionally I hear some slight congestion but usually I don't hear any. I originally thought it was from flock mates or maybe he was stung but it hasn't changed much over the past 2 weeks or so. With the tropical storm that just went...

    Breed and confirm gender.

Probably an easter egger, it could go either way on the gender. I have a white one that I got from crossing two of my easter eggers together, they are pretty much a melting pot of recessive genes so there's no guarantee on what color they will be. Maybe update in a couple of weeks?

Bought leghorns from TSC. Possibly a starlight egger?

I wanted to give an update, she is definitely a starlight egger and started laying gorgeous green heavy bloom eggs!

Cuckoo Maran cross with Barred Rocks

Cuckoo marans have white feet, off colored legs would be because they're hatchery quality unfortunately. Any cross between the two breeds would just be another barred bird that lays brown to darker brown eggs. But they would have hybrid vigor and could be used for a nice dual purpose cross.

Could be something in her eye. I've had a couple get foamy eyes, I just rinse with saline. Sometimes they can get irritated from dust/dirt.

    FLORIDA!!!!!ALWAYS SUNNY SIDE UP!!!

No, unless your hoa or city limits maybe. I don't know since I've only ever lived in the country, lol. The only one you're supposed to have permission for are pure mallards since they can breed with our mottled ducks.
