Love the pellets! I use them under the roosts and shavings towards the front where they jump down for a softer landing. Also a dog pooper scooper with the small rake n shovel worked great for the line of poop under the roost. I keep an 5 gallon bucket to scoop it into and easy to carry to...
I know white legbar should have a crest but mine is sooo unnoticeable. I couldn’t find the original pic but the top before shows how little the crest can be. Id not rule it out based on that alone. But my leghorn does lay a white white egg.
Free- Central Florida. If you know anyone that wants Mr Duke a blue silkie he's 5 months old and looking for a new home, freezer, or soup pot. He is great with the girls and doesn't force mating, the eggs are fertilize, he finds and share food, always watching the sky and alerting to predators...

Actually was one on the bank edge at the end of rock springs…. Not sure if it ever got into the water but that was enough for me. I’m a wus when it comes to those type of things. That was a few decades ago. Between snakes, gar, gators, jellyfish, sharks, sharp shells or just seaweed I don’t enjoy...
Yea here is no better I have no cable or social media besides here for the same reason. Every so often the weather app has a gator/animal at a resident type clip. Also any time I plant anything my hens love to dig it up if you have any spare buckets or pots around you can plant and water the...
What about one of the cheap plastic blue pools from like Walmart add some dirt or sand ? Altho the cat might think it’s a huge litter box 🤷🏻♀️ or some temporary plastic fencing to keep it in one area then move around. My old neighbors used to hunt them and had some type of air boat, you could...
We used plywood with metal on top. Also used hurricane straps on everything. This is 1st summer with it. Even tho we not hit the hottest days yet so far it’s been great. Lots and lots of ventilation is key. I was trying to find pics of between roof build but can’t seem to find them. Also...
I don’t have food/water in the coop. It’s messy and attracts pests. Unless they are locked in there ( more than just dusk to dawn) food and water goes in the run and then extra outside run for free ranging. Iv never used the nipples due to not freezing weather here and it’s soo hot so the hens...

My other hens never made this noise when we got new chicks. The chicks don’t seem afraid of her just curious if anyone has seen/hear this before, any ideas on the meaning?
My barred rock is my calmest friendliest hen. My legbar is sweet but loves to fly and get herself into trouble might not be best to be confined. My Rode island red mixes are mean bullies some people love them but they just seem relentless towards the others. Iv got a blue orphan and she’s...
Our small one used for separating or chicks was surrounded with cinder blocks against the chain link that’s survived many hurricanes the big one is cemented into the ground and we used hurricane straps when building. That coop might stay if the house goes 😂🤷🏻♀️
