Thought I'd show off my favorite roo out of our 3! My kids named him Steven 🤣
He is about 15 weeks old I'm guessing ! Starting to crow without sounding like a broken squeaky toy.
Not to mention he's very sweet and will dance around my feet in the mornings like he does the hens... I'm hoping...
She hatched 4 already then this egg hatched this am and she has 4 more to go... well 4/5 hours later I find her and the other chicks EATING it alive while it screamed. They ate out the eyes, ears, and hollowed out her abdomen from the vent... I ended up having to kill it cause it was still...
To be honest, this chick hatched with her wing feathers already developed quite a bit vs. Her 2 day old sibling..... maybe she cooked a bit too long in there ? Is my hen just a bad mom? I had to rescue one of her babies last night from a black abyss in a set of tires and rims in my barn ... was...
Oh no 😫 how would you reccomend i do that fastest and painless way... i dont wanna see it after either 💔 ive never had to do that yet after a year and half with the chickies ... only have had one die ! My husband's gonna home to me a wreck over the chickens again 🥺
My hen hatched one of her eggs last night at some point because I came out to this poor baby ... it is alive, trying to walk but just lays , wings sprawled out , barely able to cheep... also, I NEVER hold chicks like this but didn't want to touch the bloody part while handling all the other...
And the feed I mix in water is all 3 but ground up with some oat meal and electrolyte powder. I should be more specific. It's mainly my big girls ( all 1-5years) that eat all that . The chick feed would get ransacked by them until I started putting some together in a bowl for the older ones 🤦♀️
After watching her this am, it appears to be the foot. She's alert, will go and look for bugs, but will have to lay down every minute or so then continue. She's barely using that foot.
They have the medicated kind down, they're all out mixed together but in separate bowls if that makes sense. They have options i guess, since my big girls come and eat it all too if I don't have the regular stuff down too. But I do see a swollen toe today! And a boo boo under it! I am posting...
This is baby bell bottoms today... if I am outside , she prefers to be on me or under my chair. If I'm not, or walking around.... she stays laying just in the open or against our house watching her brother roam around and chase bugs. I think her toe may be really bothering her. I don't want to...
Sorry for the late reply, holiday weekend and chickens keeping me busy 😫 but now since it's been a couple days I've noticed the little hen and roo are starting to lose weight. They have a mix of cracked corn, omega 3 free range purina, and medicated chick starter all mixed up and I have one i...
ADVICE! I have 3 - 8 week old chicks that hatched around same time and now roam the yard together. Well one (americauna/easter egger) I accidentally killed last night cause she was roosting on the track of garage door around 9pm (I keep the younger ones in the garage until I can sort out the...
