Well, it’s day 2 of the BCM being locked up at the back of the yard by himself, completely away from everyone. The LO doesn’t chase the hens around to mate (like the BCM does) and it seems a bit more peaceful maybe?
For sure it’s him. My EE’s seem to be his favorite for some reason. And my poor Salmon Favorolle… she’s in just as bad shape. I put her in a separate run, the Hen Spa, as we call it where no roosters are allowed.
I believe my BCM is about 2 years old. I’m guessing the Cemani is about a year or a tad more. Maybe the same with the LO?…. I’m not sure because I bought them grown.
I don’t plan to breed for selling or quality. I’ll see if I can post a photo of my worst hen. I usually keep hen saddles on, but it’s been so hot that I’ve taken them off my EE’s that tend to overheat easier.
