I have two female Muskovy ducks. I got one first and then was looking for a friend for her and found one about the same age (8 months). The one is got first is relentlessly bullying the new one. I thought she’s be happy to have a friends since it was just her and the chickens and I know ducks...
The skin seemed to be okay, not a ton of oil feeling. Not overly yellow either from what I can tell. I contacted the man I got her from and he said that she had a rather muddy pond so that would likely be why?? I gave her a bath with gentle soap and blow dried her and she’s doing allot of preening.
I just got my second Muscovy duck and she isn’t repelling water at all. I don’t see mites, I’m unsure if her oil gland looks okay? And a picture of my other one next to her. My other one just swam and is nearly dry but this new one is soaking wet.
I just bought this hen and was told she is a auracana around six months old. She sent me a photo of the listing where she bought the eggs and it does say that’s what they are but I didn’t realize they could come without those fluffy cheeks you typically see? Could these be something different?
I’m not totally sure if they are called fingers but that felt right. One of the fingers on my chickens comb has turned completely gray and white. I almost thought it was a piece of poop stuck up there for a moment. Wondering if this is some thing I need to be really alarmed about or what it...

Wondering if anyone can shed some light on raising Cornish cross chickens during the colder months of October through December. They would be ready to process December 20. I live in the Pacific Northwest so temperatures don’t get too extreme but I would like some insight as far as how well they...
Does this look concerning for coccidiosis? It seems only one chick has it. They all seem alert and I have seen them all eating. I have been noticing these poops in their pen for about a week now, they are just over three weeks old. Unfortunately I can’t monitor them consistently enough to tell...
You guys are awesome! Thank you so much! I do plan on doing organic feed as I’ve actually sourced all the individual components myself and will mix it according to a tried and true recipe I found online. Thank you all for these resources!
Hi! I am new to backyard chickens and I’m having a hard time finding a solid feeding guide for Cornish cross broilers. I plan to ferment the food in order to get the most out of it but I’m having a hard time finding how much to give them and how often. I will be raising a total of 10 birds...
