Fourth failed hatch...what to do? *Dry Incubation Progress*

I have not had the time to do pics of candling but the ones that I've candled looked good. with the exception of like 5 that had a blood ring that I've pulled out of the bator. I've seen movement and the air cells look like the right size. They are due to hatch tomorrow and I'm kind of freaking...

Just got some super discouraging news about one of my horses...

I am so sorry to hear your sad news. It's always heart breaking to receive a bad report on your special animals. I learned to ride on a Appy that was blind in one eye but luckily, it didn't bother him at all. He just went right along pretty as you please anywhere I wanted to go and at any gait...

Oh Craigslist, You Amuse Me So!

Quote: What country uses "Dallas" as currency? Shouldn't there be a hyphen after the "o" in "homade"? I think the Dallas part is just referring to the town its in. I think your right about the need of a hyphen!! Lol!

Am I the only one who finds Sexy Chicken hilarious?

Quote: I think it's hilarious! Gave me a good laugh! That article is a joke. I mean if all of us chicken lovers on this forum find it funny, why is PETA getting their knickers in a twist?!

Oh Craigslist, You Amuse Me So!

Quote: Turtle wax usually does the job. It makes the flight feathers more aeordynamic. Ok.. So I actually read that post totally wrong... ''Polished'' as in being part Polish chicken... I just got it when you guys started talking about polishing it with wax! Haha, I read it totally wrong...

    Republican Debate?

Quote: It really has come down to control. Did you know Congress is trying to pass a bill that will stop farmers from cutting and selling hay? Yeah, just heard about that one yesterday. I'll be doing some research on that. What are the farmers going to do if they can't sell what their making...

Fourth failed hatch...what to do? *Dry Incubation Progress*

I'm keeping a watch on the air cells but I do have an untrained eye for that so its going to be a learning experience for sure! I'm going off of a picture that was in a link posted on this thread somewhere. It shows a diagram of how the air pocket should look on days 7, 12, and 18 I think...

Fourth failed hatch...what to do? *Dry Incubation Progress*

I couldn't sit on my hands any longer... I candled two eggs out of the 30ish that I set for dry incubation and they are developing! I could easily see veins and the start of the eye. I'm so excited! I think this might actually work for me! Today is the end of day five so I'll candle a few more...

Funniest Things A City Slicker Has Ever Said To You?

Quote: What bothers me about this is that fact that the people who ask this question are clearly ignorant about where the food they eat comes from. It's sad to me that people aren't more educated about what they consume. They just believe that it's all ok because the FDA approves it...

    Republican Debate?

Quote: This is exactly what I've been saying here lately. We have so many people working in Washington being paid ungodly amounts for what they do plus the ungodly amounts they get when their terms are over! I think that all of these jobs should be volunteer services and that would eliminate a...

Fourth failed hatch...what to do? *Dry Incubation Progress*

Quote: This may be an unnecessary comment, but do make sure you have fresh air going into the incubators at all times! Working chicks need oxygen and, if the vents are fully closed the CO2 may be building up to unhealthy levels. So glad you are trying the dry hatch! All of the vents are...

    Republican Debate?

I personally am still on the fence. I need to hear more from some of the candidates that I *think* I like. There were several times when I was saying "well said!" last night but no one concretely won me over. I fully intend to learn as much as I can before making a decision. There's so much left...

Fourth failed hatch...what to do? *Dry Incubation Progress*

Quote: I do not use the dry incubation method because I have a Octagon 20 advance ex that does it all, but from what I have read about dry incubation, you start out at 40% humidity, let it drop to 28%, then add enough water (just a little at a time) until you bring it back up to 40%, then...
