I had never experienced a fairy/fart egg 😄 but I recall reading about it however when I saw it, I instantly panic thinking it was the babies! Whew. I'll keep an eye on the older ladies.
This is a shock to me. I have about 20 chicks of different breeds (Wyandotte, Australorp, Barred Rock, Easter, Olive Eggers). They are all 6-7 weeks old. Today, I walked in to the coop and found this tiny baby egg on the ground. Is it possible for egg laying this early??
Hi All,
I purchased a random colored egg and brown egg package from Hoover Hatchery and am in the fun discovery phase but this one is a little different. Sh is now 6 weeks old. When I first got her she was the biggest, had fluffy beard, eyeliner and somewhat of chipmunk colors so I assumed EE...
Well, I must say she is doing better today after a dose of b complex yesterday. Below is the link to the video. Starts off with her just having fell over but didn't have my phone out fast enough. She walks slowly, sometimes falls over, then will army type crawl on her hocks. She also will take...
Ok, I'll try to get a video this afternoon.
She is 13 weeks, speckled sussex, normal poop. I'll take a poop pic later as well when I clean the coop. I do have treats but it's not much nor everyday. I let the kids give mealworms maybe once a week and just enough to hand feed and once or twice a...
Well shucks, that may be why then. I do have some b-complex pills so I'll crush that up and try to feed it to her and see if that truly does the trick. Thanks for responding.
I found blood in a couple of the girls stool about a week ago and treated them with Corid. Shortly after that, one of them started wobbling and losing balance. I thought it might have been from vitamin deficiency due to the treatment so boosted their water with probiotics and electrolytes. I...
I got all 14 from Cackle Hatchery online. She is an Easter Egger. I originally ordered 4 of that breed; one died on arrival, one came in with pasty butt and was very small in comparison so I worried she might not make it but she is doing well.. still smaller but keeps up with the others just...
She can walk, but doesnt want to. Just crazy she was growing faster than the rest and then bam sick. I'm driving into town today to get this and fingers crossed She pulls together. My girls and I already love her so much.
Poop is back to normal, solid with mostly white caps. The brooder currently is 85 to 90 in the warm spot where she has been spending all her time. Given its outdoor, the cool side ranges. Last week though was rough where we were hit the high 90s to 100s temp so it was hot with no lamp needed and...
I do not see any irritation, however what is strange is she feels weak and mushy but where her bald spot is between her legs whatever organ that is feels hard. I'm unfamiliar with a baby chick anatomy but feels like round rock.
They are outside in their coop but in separate areas and heat lamps. We did just have quite the heat wave last week but I don't even have a/c so I just kept providing iced water bottles for a cool down.
Help! I am new to having baby chicks from a hatchery and I have a sick 2 week old easter egger. She has always been more calm and a little bit of a loner but has been growing just the same. All of a sudden, she is extremely weak, lethargic, will not eat, barely drinks, and will not stand up...
