Whelp. I asked before but 90% sure I got a Roo. Pics.

Amazing how fast they grow. This is him less than a month ago! The comb is much more red now and the feathers so much more pronounced than they were just a few weeks ago.

Attaching a pic at the end of my Ameraucana lavender hen, but the splash pretty sure turned out to be a roo. The pea comb is getting darker, and my kids found him mounting a hen today — 14 weeks old. That splash is a roo, huh 😞 I can’t have roosters where I live. Such a beautiful bird too! Am...

They are beautiful. I am not even allowed to have chickens where I am to begin with (but my neighbors dont care) but if one starts crowing im probably in trouble, lol!

OK, so let me further explain why I had thought cockerel. Look at this one which is. a roo (from the Meyer hatchery site. Look at the distinct feather patterns (im marking them in red). and a hen (from Meyer also) and mine (ill be happy if I am wrong, I cant have roos):

    Pretty sure a roo, right?

Ah, ok. I have 2 Ameraucanas, same hatch date, the other one's don't look anything like this, that's why I was concerned!

    Pretty sure a roo, right?

The tail feathers with that arch like that? That is what made me initially think maybe roo.... Not a single one of my pullets ever had that arch or angle before.

    Pretty sure a roo, right?

The tail feathers seem more like a cockerel, but also look at the 3-row pea comb... My other ameraucanas tail feathers (well, none of my pulletS) don't look like this with that arched tail feather.... For record, they are only 11 weeks.
